omg, no linking to fanfic where the actor can see it aaaaaugh
Oh, I just meant he might not have hung around b.org enough to know how traumatizing following ita's links can be...
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well, it's ita and Colin! That makes it different.
I'm waiting for CFerg to come back in with his eyes bleeding.
It's not even that I worry about what Colin will think (mostly), because I know he's a smart guy. And because I've probably never said so, I think it's very cool that we get to hear his perspective on the show.
It's just one of those bone-deep principles that was drilled into me from my earliest days in fandom, and it's impossible to override the GNNNARRRGH.
I must admit, I'm a little interested in his perspective, as the person/character being written about.
(I still feel the need to run and hide, and I didn't know that comm existed until just now.)
If it helps, think about it as me sending an old friend a link to fanfic--I spend too much time trying to explain it.
I admit--I did look for RPF with him in, but not with that much conviction.
What is this thing they call Slash? Is it prevalent in fandom? *thank God it was ita, thank God it was ita*

My knee-jerk reaction is to think that you're being sarcastic.
Are you actually asking, though?
If others get plausible deniability then I want mine on record too.
::hugs Ailleann for being so sweet::
HA! Ok, just checking.
For the record, I wouldn't be able to explain it to you, no sirreebob.

Right. Aside from the brave new world of fan and fan-object failing to have any distance from one another, around which I wrap my brain but slowly*, there's the whole MY PRIVATES. LET ME SHOW YOU THEM issue**.
(* For me, when that distance collapses, it's not that the fannishness becomes too intense; it disappears. It stops being OMG hot actor, e.g., and becomes Hey, I used to know that dude. Wonder if he still picks his nose? A key component to fannish attraction, to me, is the secure knowledge that I will never meet that person. It's much harder to objectify somebody you first met in the seventh grade.)
(Unless you're ita, and have gigantic photo archives devoted to just that purpose.)
(**A link between friends is a fine joke. It's the people who presume mutual intimacy where there is none who inspire me to violent aversion. Aside from all the "hello, you go on the stalker list" issues and "fans are weirdoes" issues, it's undignified. Which is a true crime.)
