Vaguely tangential to Eureka I ran across the last few minutes of an Outer Limits with Colin F as the antagonist/possessed guy last night. He did coldly vindictive quite well, and it was my first look at him in a villain role.

Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
So I came back from being gone all weekend, and was surprised that BS had higher post numbers than Bitches. I haven't watched anything from the weekend yet, so I was avoiding it like the plague. Then I remembered we did an SPN watch and post this weekend. Hee. So I just squinted past the show talk and finished the 200+ posts. I love my talky meat Boxed Set. I'm sure I'll have something non-SPN-related to say once I've actually watched all my Sci-Fi.
Thank you to whoever pointed out the identity of the bad guy from IMToD. It was driving me batty trying to remember where I saw him.
My mom caught an episode of SPN (after watching all of S1 during a weekend she visited me) and was so confused about what happened to John. I recounted IMToD in all its glory for her. (Sadly, I didn't think she'd be as excited about the Scrub Pants of Ultimate Hotness, since she's literally old enough to be his mother, so I left that out.)
My mother watches SPN too, and every so often will still sigh, "I wish they'd bring back John...." Although I suspect she appreciates the eye candy of Sam & Dean too.
Have people learned nothing from Firefly?Apparently not. I was convinced that I'd screwed up my viewing order of TDF but, no, it was them. Bastards.
Scrub Pants of Ultimate Hotness*happy place*
The finale of Life On Mars keeps coming back to me. If you look at it from the PoV of the people in reality, who stayed by his side and talked to him (even the GF that left) and urged him to stay strong, he just woke up, hung around a little, and then committed suicide. That's rough.
Life on Mars finale:
Uh-huh. That's why I like my completely-manipulated-to-suit-me wank of events. La-la-la-la I can't hear you. Or read you .
Life on Mars:
yes, though ex-GF had left, and he practically asked permission to leave from his mum. "You always keep your promises" .
I don't know much about brain injury, but I can imagine the scenario about finding it really hard to get back to the 'real' world after being in a coma. There was a BBC drama a couple of months ago (starring David Tennant, funnily enough) which dealt with the subject really well. So Sam's ducking out rang true for me too.
Still rough, though, yeah.
The kiss was great, too, followed by the slap (though book!Murphy would have socked him in the gut). I'm not a Harry/Murphy shipper for the books, but I wouldn't object to it happening on the show.
Yes, this! It helps that Blackthorne and Cruz have chemistry like fire. In the books, though, I like that they [spoiler for Proven Guilty] chose to detour away from that, with a heartfelt acknowledgement and then more mature understanding. It felt very real and very appropriate to me.
But that picture of Dresden and Murphy was very ::fans self::. I'm disappointed that the season is over, and now I'm tempted to re-download and watch in production order to see if that runs more smoothly. I finished reading Proven Guilty this weekend, and I agree, Kalshane, the worlds are separate to me, though I love 'em both. I've just started reading Storm Front, but I'm itching to read White Night, since it follows Proven Guilty. Too bad its not coming out in the Uk for the foreseeable future.
Also, it's very weird to watch SG W&Ps! It's like deja vu all over again.
That's rough.
That's what I'm saying! It was so unfair to the people around him.
LoM: I'm not going as far as unfair--or if I do, I still think it may have been more unfair to him to keep living, and that's his call to make.
