I don't think so. I think writers can take you too far out of what should be expected behavior in order to achieve what they feel is dramatic conflict. I'll cop to willing suspension of disbelief with the science of the show, but not the way professionals should be portrayed. I'm sure they handled it the way they did to make Jack more solidly our wobbie, but it really wasn't necessary for me. Plus, if they'd done it the way you mention, it would have given them a chance to show Jack being willing to grow by rising to the occasion, rather than still a petulant child having his favorite toy taken away.
Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I'm not taking this too seriously, am I?
I don't think so! I noticed a lot of the same things, and I'm in no way a professional in that field.
It's easy to see why they're portraying her in this way, as Sail said, to make it clear that we need to side with Jack on this issue. But they probably could have done it while still making her seem at least a little capable.
If they want to move her into Eureka, they should make her seem competent. (Though, their current shrink kinda sucks, so maybe she would be an upgrade?)
The Futoncritic's report from the SG1 panel at Comic-Con. (Yes, the SG1 panel.)
And their report from the Eureka panel.
And their report from the Eureka panel.
Dear lord, they are the most Pete, err, adorable cast going, aren't they?
Hey, we're W&Ping that Sand of whatever movie, right?
I read the synopsis on Comcast digital and looks like they're going to anger and Egyptian God - so I expect a high level of cheesy goodness.
Remind me again when that is, sumi. It did promise to be good cheesy fun.
I believe it is at 9 pm Eastern on Scifi.
I will definitely be watching and posting the Sand movie.
Me too!
Excellent!
I think this movie calls for popcorn.
