Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

OK, Juliebird, where are all the deleted scenes? I admit I've mostly just been watching the eps and listening to commentary, but I swear I can't find the flipping deleted scenes! And, did they do a... whaddayacall... blooper reel?

I'm such a dork - I am loving all the commentaries!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I don't like the idea of splitting off one show from Boxed Set. I don't like splitting threads much at all because I think it really limits the conversations. I don't like it especially when this show was exactly the kind of show that we made this thread to talk about in first place.

Yes, we watch and post. We also put a jump tag in so people can skip straight past it.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

JenP, deleted scenes are on the first disc (commentary optional). It's fun, because Colin mentions bunches of them in the commentaries/podcasts, and to then actually get to see them is great. There is one "extended" scene from OiaL on the third disc where they wouldn't yell cut for Matt Frewer (fun-nay). There are no bloopers (*sniffles* ::eyes Cferg pointedly:: *cough* *hint* coughseason2dvdscough *nudge*), just one practical joke scene on the first disc (hi-sterical). I feel rather bereft because I listened to all the available podcasts during the run of the show, but I still love them! Especially the one where Colin has had waaay too much caffeine!

And a belated thank you thankyouthankyou to Cferg for doing the two commentaries for the pilot --oh so very long after it was actually filmed, I might add, and both were still a fun listen.

OK, I've got to go back to Disc 1, obviously. I did find the Matt Frewer thing and the practical joke in the RV. I must have not hit "Next" often enough or something. I've been all, "What deleted scenes?!??!"

Problem #2 is that I keep listening to commentaries as I'm drifting off to sleep. It's all a big weird jumble in my brain.

The thing where I grow to love a show even more on rewatch is happening to me with Eureaka in a pretty big way, too. I've decided it's because I know the characters already, so I'm more invested in them.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

My dvds aren't here yet! Sad now.

JenP - Jul 14, 2007 6:08:42 pm PDT #3911 of 10001

Oh, that is hugely sad! Did you pre-order? I was actually surprised at how quickly mine showed up - way before they were supposed to.

(And crossing over from Lightbulbys, you know I ♥ you, too... for all the same reasons.)

This is my smiley face, can you see it?

No, I was stupid and broke and did not pre-order. In fact, I have *yet* to order, I just discovered, since my last order was something else...that I felt at the time was more important. How silly of me. So now, "...I'm WAIting!"

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

For me, as always, SPN likes carrots and I'm yonks behind. I'm (a little) unrepentant.

Cindy's watching SPN! Huzzah!

I think of all the lovely parts of Nightshifter, my very favorite is how damn PISSY Sam is through the whole thing. He woke up so far on the wrong side of the bed that day he was in another room.

That's why he is, weirdly, so much more dangerous than Dean.

Ohhh, this. Sam could destroy the world. And it would be really hot.

I have thoughts on the thread thing, but I'll go put them in the other place.

Because books.

He woke up so far on the wrong side of the bed that day he was in another room.

Heh.

And no, I don't know why I'm still up. I'm going to pay for this tomorrow, though.

What is even happening?

Partial Xpost with the voting thread (because I know some people interested in SPN's location won't go there):

I've eyeballed the July posts in Boxed Set. I am probably somewhat off, because it's early, and the math -- she is not my thing. That said, here's a rough idea of what we've discussed in Boxed Set over the past couple of weeks:

340 Supernatural posts

170 Eureka posts

90 Dr. Who posts

15 Kindred: The Embraced posts

15 Should-We-Have-An-SPN-Thread posts

10 Painkiller Jane posts

20 to 30 miscellaneous posts

NOTE: If there was a conversation organizing a Watch & Post, I counted it toward that show's total. Also, all figures are (way) approximate.

Someone might want to do a similar eyeball of a month where shows like SPN, BSG and the Stargates were all in first run. I don't know. I just know I'm not doing it.

eta...

If you take out the SPN Watch & Post posts, there are probably about 115 posts for the show. Of course, then you'd have to take out the Eureka W&P posts (which weren't marked, so I didn't get a feel for them, the way I did with SPN). Personally, I think it's senseless to discount W&P posts for either show, because W&P posting is one of the ways shows generate thread traffic.
