We had already watched all of season 1. "Croatoan" was our first season 2 episode.
I think we've seen s2 roughly in this order:
Croatoan 2.09
Hunted 2.10
In My Time of Dying 2.01 (which also killed me)
Playthings 2.11
Nightshifter 2.12
Houses of the Holy 2.13
Everybody Loves a Clown 2.02
We also put on Bloodlust (2.03) last night, but after HotH, and ELaC, I was tired and didn't make it all the way through.
Basically, when the CW airs a re-run, we watch that, then when we're done with the CW's re-run, we start digging into the first 8 episodes of the season that we ordered from Amazon Unbox. It's a little crazy, but it doesn't really matter, any more. This is very much how we caught up on BtVS (which we found in s3), but we have less catching up to do, and don't have to wait as long as you used to have to wait, for past seasons to be available.
What was Plei's utterance?
(Gah - still need to finish that birthday fic guiltguiltguilt)
We kinda love Dean. A lot. We might love him more than Buffy sometimes. We can't help it.

Croatoan is indeed hardcore. Oh my. Now I need to watch it again.
In My Time of Dying 2.01 (which also killed me)
Oh yes. Hurts SO good.
I can't wait until you see AHBL. ::flails in anticipation::
What was Plei's utterance?
I, err, confessed to loving Dean more than I love Buffy.
We don't just understand, we agree. And we are scared.

Yes, this.
It shocked me, when I finally dragged myself out of Mezozoic era and found online fandom, that there were BtVS fans who *didn't like Buffy*. Much as I love Angel and Will and Spike and Giles (oh, Giles!) and the rest, Buffy was my true north. She was my girl. (I can't say it as well as Cindy does, but we all know Cindy's relationship wiht Buffy is special.)
And then came Dean. And Sam. But mostly Dean. Yes.
Yes, we so understand. Although my Samlove has grown exponentially this year. First season I regarded him as something of a spoiled brat, whiny, still an adolescent, needlessly confrontational and argumentative. It didn't help that I thought the actor wasn't exploring his potential. He's changed since IMToD, and by Houses of the Holy he had my respect as an adult and a fully realized character. So yeah, Dean was my intro character, John was the hook--my avatar went back and forth between John and Dean. This season, with Dean fracturing and splintering, I've been coming to accept Sam as an adult and look to him to possibly save the clan Winchester.
I cannot believe you saw Hunted before Bloodlust. That is hardcore disen-arcing. I'm sort of impressed that you're still watching. But we're glad you are.
I am shallow enough to admit that Dean's face is what hooked me at first.
