No Dr. Who commentary? Huh. Rather liked this, but I love Shakespeare AU stuff. My DVR conked out just as the Doctor and Martha were running for the Tardis (after he got spotted by Elizabeth I). Did I miss anything?

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

Wow, I thought the skiffy boards were bad last year re: Eureka. Talk about inane.
What are you talking about now?
Nope, Frank. They just ran and got into the TARDIS, the end.
"Thank you, J.K.!"
I loved the Shakespeare ep! I thought the actor who played Shakespeare was fantastic. (And hot) I loved all of the "Ooh, good line; I'll have to use that," banter. And, naturally, the "Mumblenumber academics just punched the air," made me laugh out loud.
I have to remember to rewatch on Fridays now.
A theremin player of my acquaintance just did some work for the 4400. On the episode of July 22, there's a sequence where characters are watching a movie and this "movie-within-a-movie" has theremin in the score. I stopped watching the series midway through the second season, but I may need to TiVo this episode!
I didn't even notice the product placement in Eureka. Well done!
Jon, I speak of the "don't kill Beverly!" "Who is going to die?" "Get rid of Stark!" "OMG! they killed Eureka with making Henry a villian!" "1st-time poster, this show is so cancelled cuz they made it dark!" threads.
Forgot how wonderful the Shakespeare ep was of Dr. Who. Witch aliens are still annoying with the cackling. But so much goodness with the Doctor, Martha and Shakes. Especially loved the Doctor rubbing his face at the "political correctness run amok", telling Martha not to speak like she was, etc.

Oh, as usual, dear. Thanks for reminding me of why I hide out here and never venture far afield to other boards.
Just got done watching the late-night rerun of Doctor Who--that was fun! Loved the cackling over-the-topness of the witches. Campy witches can work in the right environment, and Shakespearean Doctor Who just screams for it.
I hope that Martha can get over her crush on the Doctor ASAP, though. Rose's love for him was fine, but not another one so soon after she left. It's not a Rose-n-Doctor4evah! thing, just a BTDT vibe. I did like Shakespeare's passing flirtation with him, though; that made sense when you take his sonnets into account.
Speaking of, a friend of my brother's plays in a band and I asked him what he played. he said "I play the theremin" I replied, "watch out, I actually know what that is"

The hotness threw me out of it a bit, since it's well known that Shakespeare actually looked a bit more like Paul Giamatti in real life. I get that they were going for a 16th Century rock star kind of vibe, but it just didn't work for me.
I'm tired of every frickin' lone alien out there being able to casually kill off the entire planet Earth and planning to do so. I'd prefer it if they saved the doomsday stuff for big Dalek 2-parters and lessened the scope of some of the monster-of-the-week threats.
I did enjoy the madhouse scenes (and Elizabethan era life in general), and loved Martha's enthusiasm. Also loved Queen Elizabeth's reaction to the Doctor.
