How did your brain even learn human speech? I'm just so curious.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Is the Christmas ep enjoyable/important enough to ahem and stay 90 minutes after work to watch, or should I just go on with the season from the point I joined at?

Matt, given some information that's been released about next season, you should probably watch it. However, it's not necessary to watch it in sequence, I don't think.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Got to the two new Who episodes tonight (yes, I like a good rhyme). Found Donna annoying at first, but by the end of the episode, I really liked her. Also, for an Xmas episode, Ten was mighty Old Testament in his resolving of the situation. I loved that Donna called him on it to. If the Doctor should know anything, it's that being the last of your species makes you do the wacky (and I suspect, given DALEK and "This time everybody lives!", that Nine would have found a way of convincing the queen before offing her kids).

As far as the actual season premiere, count me in on the Martha fan club, because she effin ROCKS! Much as I ended up loving Rose, for a bit I was "well, let's see how she develops". With Martha, I just hope they don't screw with her character's massive enthusiasm for experiences too much. Very endearing (plus she's a hottie).

Well, I don't view it as a special per se--it's not like it's all "The Doctor experiences the true meaning of Christmas and then does the snoopy dance" (though for the record, I would totally watch it, and would probably put it up on youtube). It's more a bridge ep between the series, and is part of the canon of the continuity. *shrug* I think it's worth watching.

Truer words.

Hey, regarding the "Made in Eureka" ads--the dvd for the first two episodes of the second season was sent in promotional packaging of a "Made in Eureka" catalog--all the different things that come out of Eureka in one convenient form. It was highly entertaining.

Also, Who 313:

I though that when the Master changed the Doctor into Dobby the Elf it wasn't necessarily trepidation on his face--it was fear. He mentions at some point having seen and done all the depravities of the universe, but this is probably a first for him--he's seeing what he would look like, too, if it wasn't for regeneration. Pretty f'n scary, I think.

Also, man, the Doctor just can't cut a break. The other last living timelord would rather die than spend eternity with him. That's gotta hurt. The determination in Ten's eyes when he decided he was going to care for the Master had, I think, a faint glimmer of "finally" behind it. Like he had been secretly hoping for this the entire time and finally got it. Thus making the moment when the Master kicks it both heartrending, and super-slashy. Whoa, nelly on the gay of that particular scene.

And then about the Face of Boe. I don't know how I feel about that! I mean, okay, he does finally kick it, but how does his face get that big? How is he just a face? And also, this makes that picture of me hugging the Face of Boe take on an entirely new meaning. Now I'm going to wonder if its big ol' eyes were actually staring at my ass.

Finally, aw, Kylie! that will be entertaining. But do we have word on whether Freema will be returning? or is it New Companion Time all over again? I kind of thought we might check in a few years down the road, and Martha would be with Cutie Paediatric Doctor or somethhing.

Augh, SIX MONTHS.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

SA, hon, anyone who's had the opportunity to check out your ass would've known the face of Boe was doing just that even before we knew what we know now.

SA, I think you can find your answer in the spoiler thread. It may be too spoilery for whitefont, here.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Lee and Cass and Plei, we missed you tonight.

Awww. I watched the Usual suspects on the plane last night, so it was fun to go back and read the W&P.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.
