If they can count Sara Kingdom as an official companion (she was only on one episode back in the '60s, IIRC), then (IMO) Mickey counts, since he told the Doctor he was coming onboard as crew instead of just accompanying Rose.

What's the word on Painkiller Jane? Is it getting good ratings, do people like it?

They need to be freer with the painkillers if they want me to watch again.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Evidently, I have a lot to say about "Dr. Who" after mainlining Season Two, then watching "The Runaway Bride" and "Smith &Jones" last night. Thoughts here.

Hmmph. As it turns out, my VCR didn't record "The Runaway Bride" last night, though I did get home in time to see "Smith & Jones." Is the Christmas ep enjoyable/important enough to ahem and stay 90 minutes after work to watch, or should I just go on with the season from the point I joined at?

Well, I imagine Sci-Fi will re-run it a million times, so I'm sure you cna catch it at your leisure. But on the whole, yeah. It's a good episode. Not the best, and Donna Noble's pretty annoying at first, but the latter half of it is definitely worth seeing. Plus, Tardis in a car chase!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Matt, I quite enjoyed the Christmas Special myself, but more importantly, just like the previous Christmas Special, it's part of the regular continuity, so it's worth watching. (It's not actually ninety minutes; it's only an hour.) I won't tell you why you really need to watch it, of course, but suffice it to say that it becomes relevant in the future.

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, the Tardi-car chase was excellent.

And the continuity from the previous Christmas special - very nice.
