That wasn't the one I had problem with, Jon. I'm grabbing the [MM] one now too.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
OK, whew. Thanks.
Who 3x13:
Mrs Saxon had facial bruises consistent with being hit. I think they were going for domestic violence vibes.
And Oh yes, the ring at the end reminded me of Flash Gordon, too. Will we see the master possessing a woman, next? It was a woman's hand, IIRC.
Unless, of course, Mrs Saxon or the ring is the repository the real Master, and the ring just let her fake her own death to get away.
Who 3x13:
Bloody. Fear Factor for the ep will have to wait until Monday, the website says. I like hearing the opinions of the kids.
I am soooo very far behind. (except for reading whitefont, because I do)
I have the entire Who for this season sitting on disk ready for my viewing pleasure. And just tonight I watched the last 3 episodes from last season. If it were not for summer vacation I would not watch the blessed tv at all.
The upside, I shall watch this season in marathon viewing. Woo!
Re Daniel's whitefont:
It was a woman's hand, IIRC.
I thought it was Mrs. Saxon's hand which picked up the ring, which would fit into the abused spouse dynamic (I noticed the bruises too). I also did consider the possibility of a female Master (Mistress?), though, which would be SUPER interesting, if and when they decide to revive him/her.
I think I know which one she found harder.
Good point, ita.
Whofont! it was definitely Mrs. Saxon's hand taking the ring at the end. go back to the scene when Jack is taking the gun from her. she has those same, semi-long red nails.
Dr. Who 3.13:
Man, the internets are generally grumpy about this episode. I'm sorry it couldn't be as awesome as "Utopia" and "The Sound of Drums", but I still enjoyed it. My standards for sense-making aren't very high.
Aged!Ten looked alarmingly like Dobby the house-elf. That would make a hell of a crossover.
One major complaint seems to be that there was a reset. Well -- yeah. I always figured there'd be a reset. Aside from the fact that The Master killed SIX HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE, he set up something called a "paradox machine". It was pretty obvious to me that a name like that might as well be a blinking sign that said "please shoot me to resolve the plot."
I have no idea what's going to happen in the next series. Huh.
Who 3.13:
I definitely didn't love this one as much as some of the eps this year - like 3.12 and the creepy-ass angel one, but I liked it well enough. I admit I was a leetle "Oy," at the "Everybody, think Doctor!" wish him back to strength through the network... telepathic link... integrated with it for a year... blahbity, blah thing - including ascension lighting! But whatever, handwave.
Things what I particularly liked: the look of trepidation on the Master's face when he turned the Doctor into Dobby the House Yoda - he almost looked as if he were afraid he'd killed him. The whole bit at end with the don't leave me/I win. Man, those two are slasheriffic! Martha!! Being strong! Walking away! Calling cutie-head what-his-doctor! Ripping my heart out by leaving the poor Doctor alone again (naturally) but totally cheering for her resolve at the same time. The shared almost-smile between the Doctor and Mrs. Jones through the window. Tennant's whip-fast change from "OK, where are we off to now?" denial into resigned acceptance. Oh, and Martha again - giving that bouquet to the Professor - d'awwww. Jack as the Face of Bo(e?). That's just... that's just neat. Whole new levels to look for on series rewatch. Love.
So, yeah, the resolution to the plot wasn't anything exceptional, which would have been super, but I sure wasn't expecting anything but a reset. People didn't expect that? That seems odd to me.
All in all, I liked this season.
Whofont... i like the resolution of Jack = The Face of Boe, but i also have issues with it. in Utopia when Martha is telling the Doctor about the Professor's watch, she mentions The Face of Boe and Jack is standing right there and has no reaction to it whatsoever. surely they knew they were going to make this revelation at that point. so why not throw in a subtle reaction from Jack that wouldn't have made us think twice then, but on rewatch make us all go "oooooooh"? it bugs.
however, the thought of it being him way back when the Doctor and Rose first met The Face of Boe is so much fun to think about, i'm willing to handwave and focus on how damn cool it is.
