A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Doctor Who:
Holy crap, that was terrifying. *shudder* I think I should have heeded the warning Fiona posted earlier and waited until daylight to watch it. What a cool concept, though! But SCARY AS FUCK.
ita, I had the same worry as you
about the statues being moved. AUGH!
Just watched the new Who. Well. I won't be
going to bed anytime soon,
will I?
I'd resisted aheming this season since I can start recording it in clearer fullscreen off SciFi in a month, but the notion of an episode that can creep out ita and shrift is just too tempting. How vital is it to see eps 1 through 9 before this one?
Matt, it's pretty standalone. I can't think of any previous episode it references, except for
the fact that the Doctor is travelling with Martha
now.
3X10 can be watched totally standalone-it would make a great jumping on point for new fans.
ETA- What Kate P. Said
ita, the
statues have been turned completely to stone, so they're the Weeping Angel equivalent of dead now. It doesn't matter what happens to them any more, thank GOD. Different statues, on the other hand....
Thanks for giving a generation of children
complete statue paranoia,
Doctor Who!
Jon, I didn't think that, though it's very plausible (that may have been around the time I changed channels).
Laurence Nightingale,
ha ha ha.
Matt, I would absolutely watch it. There has hardly been an ep so far this season with so little backstory required.
I guess I was in the minority that I didn't
find the angels
creepy.
At least not
at first, not until they showed their teeth
.
Dude, they're
statues that move when you're not looking. What could be scarier than that
?
I felt
sorry for them. I thought they were weeping
!
I'm not sure why I never felt
sorry for them. Good music cues, perhaps.
Fiona, is there a state for them such as
permanent stone? I thought it was just as long as they were looked at. Like, a dark room might cure them.
I should just be glad I didn't dream about them and leave it be.
