Would it be petty of me to say that I was constantly distracted while reading the Dodger-Winslow essay by the many typos? Yes, I suppose it would be. (And I'm certainly not claiming that my posts have never contained a mistake.) Interesting ideas, much food for thought. I just wish it had been run through spell check before being posted.
Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. I'm afraid it's become my standard response to D-W. Her language is fine, and I generally like her characterizations, but she needs the machete like nobody's business. She could cut 60% of her prose and not lose anything.
