Goodness. Who 3.09:

"Why can't I stay?" DT was--well, they all were--phenomenal in this. I was really mourning for John Smith and Joan instead of being all "Hurry up! Bring the Dr. back!" I mean, don't get me wrong - happy to see him, and all, but...

I have to stay, I was heartily stung on Martha's behalf when he asked Joan to go away with him and be his companion. I mean, not that Martha knows he did it, but ouch.

And, last, the kid from Love Actually is fantastic. Love that kid .

Art Crawl!!!

TVShowson dvd says that the Dresden Files will be released on August 7th. (I could swear I already pre-ordered this -- is it possible it was up for pre-order before they announced a release date?)

Our wings are not tired.

weeps for being so far behind on DW.

I usually read all the whitefont, but I have been trying to resist until I get up to date on Who. Damn the lack of hours in the day.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yeah, sumi, I was confused too - according to Amazon I pre-ordered it May 19.

At least we know it's actually coming out. I'm dying to find out about a second season. I need more of the Harry-n-Bob Show.

Also, re: the Dr. Who Confidentials - I have such a crush on the SFX supervisor named Danny Hargreaves. What a cutie pie. Plus, he blows stuff up. Safely. What's not to love?

Who 3.9:

I agree! I did think that the episode was a little slow getting started (despite the nice resolution to the cliffhanger), but that was probably because my expectations were quite high. Also I felt that Jessica Hynes and Harry Lloyd didn't really get the chance to shine, certainly not compared to last week.

However once things got going it was PERFECT. Or as near as dammit. Loved the "what might have beens" (I guessed beforehand that was what the marriage-and-kids bit probably was). Poor John Smith. Loved the moment he held the watch and the Doctor resurfaced, and Martha's delight at this. Loved the Martha-Tim interaction. Guessed it was the Doctor, not Smith, in the invisible spaceship. Shivered at the wrath of the Timelord. And poor Joan. "Could you change back". "Yes". "Will you?" "No".

And how happy am I that somebody managed to capture this ?

BTW, next week's Confidential looks really interesting; it's David Tennant talking to various makers of the new series about what Doctor Who means to them.

Yes, next week is the Steven Moffat episode. I also thought that Captain Jack was back next week, but it might be the week after .

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Man, this two-parter f'n *rocked.* I am so impressed with David Tennant. I don't really have anything to say because I'm still kind of processing, but that speech the kid made about what the Doctor is was fantastic, not to mention John Smith calling the Doctor "some kind of lost prince," which is also a lovely description. I also loved that, in seeing the what-might-have-been for John Smith and the matron, we also got a glimpse of what it must be like to *be* the doctor, seeing a thousand different possibilities in the space of a moment. Just brilliant. Right up there with Empty Child/Doctor Dances.

Of course, now we're more than halfway through the series. Woe!

On Dresden--jesus, could they just tell us already?! That's what's driving me crazy the most.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Who is going to be around for a watch and post for SPN 2x3 tonight at 7:00. I know Cass won't be here-- do we want to push it to another night at 7:00?
