Does anybody mind if I pass out?

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

It is hard to get used to, especially when it's fabulous and you just want more, but with LoM, I think it would have been hard to sustain the concept indefinitely.

yeah, you're probably right. i'd much prefer a short series that is done well than a drawn out one that you're ready for it to end.

Fiona, i knew about Simm being in Who, which i'm SO excited about. State of Play! that's the other one. i'll have to go look for some current *ahems*. i'll need something to fill the Simm void LoM will leave me with.

If I had the patience, I'd wait till any given UK series (which is what they call a season) is done and mainline it in a weekend. Never works out that way.

agreed. i actually tend to watch the DW eps right away and then once i have three eps, i burn them to a disc and watch with my sister, but i haven't started her on this new season yet and now we're almost done. by the time we have time to catch up, the season will probably be over. so she won't have to wait for these two-parters to finish up.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Who: holy mother, this makes up for the stupid "42" episode in spaaaaaaaaades. Not!Schoolboy is creepy as hell. Like, creepy like the Cillian Murphy in Batman Returns creepy. Very nicely done on his part, for the role. Very nicely done.

Oh, David! It's so lovely to see him act in such an entirely different role than the spastic Doctor I heart. Tennant has such a natural grace for expanding things that could just be relatively minor. As the scatterbrained school teacher, he is just wonderful. I love the little romance between him and the matron--it's like a story within a story within a story, and a very lovely grace note in an otherwise fantastic episode.

Poor Martha! Bless her. I feel for her the most, I think. And the moment, when she's looking at the Doctor on the screen in the TARDIS, and he's on number 23; and she says, of course you had to go and fall in love with someone, and that someone wasn't me. Bless! It sucks to be the girlfriend after The Girlfriend.

The fellow who was in Love Actually--which, by the by, thanks, I was trying to place that through the whole thing--did a nice wide-eyed astonishment. The bits about the oncoming war were rather heavy-handed, but whatever. It's not Who without some anvils. This was really a genius episode. And probably spawns a thousand AUs. Can't wait for next week!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh, I am such a Glenister fangurl. Also? Sam's dad is Stan Shunpike. IJS.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I had a dream last night that I was Dean Winchester's girlfriend and we were Fighting Evil with Sam. It was a good good dream and I didn't want to wake up.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I wonder what Stargate would have been like if Kurt Russell had reprized his role as Jack O'Neil (one L)?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ick.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Whereas I don't really care about the retro stuff at all and sometimes wonder why they couldn't tell these stories in present day.

Well, I mean, part of why I love the show is the whole time-travel thing. So they had to set it somewhere other than present-day Britain, otherwise it would be a fundamentally different show. And you couldn't really have a character like Gene in present-day Britain. I mean, you could, but he'd be very different, and the characters would react differently to him -- and I suspect I'd have a lot less patience for him. To me, he's really a product of his time.

Oh, for people who watch LoM and have seen Hot Fuzz

ita, yes, definitely! I had to look up the actors to see if the guy who plays Ray (the really obnoxious one) was one of the Andys in Hot Fuzz. (Actually, I kind of want to rewatch Hot Fuzz now that I'm watching LoM -- seems like they cover some of the same territory in very different ways.)

John Simm has climbed his way to the top of my very favorite british actors list.

He's mine! I saw him... well, last, to be honest. But I love him! He reminds me a bit of a cross between Martin Freeman and Simon Pegg, whom I also love. Now I want to see all three of them in a movie together... t goes to happy place

I had a dream last night that I was Dean Winchester's girlfriend and we were Fighting Evil with Sam. It was a good good dream and I didn't want to wake up.

I want that dream! Except, you know, with me. And, actually, as Sam's girlfriend. But other than that, the same.
