YED is Fredric Lehne, [link] He was also the baddie in Heart of Gold. he's been on Bones, and lots of other tv. And he is nicely creepy as the YED.

Okay, if the YED felt the need to show up when Sam was 6 months' old to drip blood into his mouth, so as to get demon blood into his bloodstream, I guess that rules out the speculation that Sam is half demon, and therefore his daddy is probably human after all. (Otherwise his bloodstream would have already been contaminated with demon blood. No need to top it off at 6 months.)
