Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sox, you should come down to D.C. and meet SuziQ when she's in town.

PERK!!!!!

I'll be there the 3rd through the 9th. I think we are trying to get a touristy wander together for the 9th. I'm also begging for dinner buddies during the week.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

also, why am I spending hours playing with graph paper plotting out my next quilt when I still need to finish the big quilt for the king sized bed? Not to mention I have previously been doing plain 12 inch squares, or sometimes bisecting them to make two right triangles. why do I think I have the skills to suddenly be dealing with a brazillion little 3 inch patches to make trees and stuff?

Huh. I thought this kind of thing only happened with knitting, crocheting and cross-stitch. I thought you quilters were all kind of industrious.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Today is one of those beautiful San Francisco days that make you happy to be alive. It's warm and sunny, so I bought my lunch at the Rincon Center and walked down to the waterfront. I sat in the sun and warmed my lizard self as I ate my burrito, and then I walked to the Ferry Building and checked out all the nummy foodstuffs.

Today is a good day, and to top it off, I'm wearing the cutest shirtdress evAH (from H&M, it's black with pinstripes and very Lois Lane-y).

I'm wearing my version of a little black dress (not so little, but tis black) and cute high heels.

We are not discussing in-progress craft projects. I STILL owe K-Bug a crocheted blanket I started almost a year ago.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I've been zipping along on my sister's wedding present (a cross-stitched wedding announcement). The inside is rather plain (just the couple's names and the date, with "United in Marriage" above it), but the bitch to finish was the border--all Celtic interwoven circles. When I finished the first colored circle pattern all the way around, I realized I had miscounted one entire side and had to rip out all three gradations of blue circles on that side and re-do it (it was only off by one line, but even on a 32-count fabric, that one line will mess up the entire pattern). But, the border is now done, and I just started working on the two squares for the initial letters of "United" and "Marriage". I should have it done by the end of June/middle of July, at the latest.

move out and draw fire

I'm thinking about multiple homicide. But they're only 8 year-olds, and it's not their fault this building has nowhere for them to play but the stairs, and that the building is made of tin foil and papier-mache.
