Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

There's also Modest Needs, though it's donation-based, not loan-based.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

yay for Mal! yay for good news stories. I spent too much time talking about the pit that has been roaming around our neighborhood for the last five days. It looks like thy finally caught it. Sadly, I think it was a fight dog that was dumped. the animal control officer thought someone should "befriend" it and trap in their backyard. I think if the used used the word lure , I might have been a little more excepting of the idea. because they couldn't get near it. But it did trap some one in their house for a day ( it decided to live on her front porch) and no one cam e and got it then. I think they finally caught it this morning.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Joss's response made me cry. Also made me join Equality Now and give them money.

Me too. And write a rant in my LJ. And finally join Educate Girls Globally. And buy a Dua Khalil t-shirt and buttons.

I am a woman on a mission.

Oh my gosh, Raq, he is so big

A couple other mothers this weekend assumed he was 3. But really he only wears 2T! And the waists are too big, so he's always got that gangsta look.

I just dropped off my rental application. There was almost tragedy: I was so occupied with making sure I had all the checks and stuff that I forgot to put the handbrake on!

Of course, the car didn't start rolling until I was out of it, so I had to unlock it and dive in and yank the brake up before it hit anything. I came about a foot, or maybe 7 seconds, from hitting a parked car.

Thankfully I had parked in the space with the most room behind, but diving headfirst into a Miata from standing? Ow.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Sparky and Steph, thanks for posting about Kiva.org and Modest Needs. I've been lately wanting just such organizations, but I didn't know they existed.

Me too. And write a rant in my LJ. And finally join Educate Girls Globally. And buy a Dua Khalil t-shirt and buttons.

Kristin, I think I'll be doing all those things too.

Dua Khalil's murder has hit the same way Matthew Shepard's murder did. I can't stop thinking about it, I can't stop crying, and I'm so angry, with no one in front of me to blame and punch.

What is even happening?

A bit too much like jumping into a rolling mini-van, seven months pregnant, huh?

Seriously. Except I don't have the excuse of pregnancy brain.

I'm not sure I fully agree with Joss' analysis, but I think "what is wrong with women?" is a great question to ask. It may just be as simple as "men beat the crap out of women because they can."

I also disagree that we are devolving into violence. I think we are only recently enough above that level to see how awful it is, and to try and stop it. There was no such thing as EqualityNow even 40 years ago.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Yes. This.

Can someone return my motivation? It seems to have fled. The kids didn't sleep well last night so I didn't get a lot of sleep. And it's sort of hot out there. I had a good excuse in that I was waiting for a friend to call about coming over to pick up some outgrown baby clothes. But she never called and now I'm waiting until 4 when I can call our new, potential dog sitter to come over and meet the crew.

I'd loan you mine, but I seem to have left it on one of the internets.
