[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

Aw! The Cherub is adorable. So is Casper.

I got my hair cut today, nothing drastic but he took off some of the length so it has more of a style while the front part grows out. It's a good hair cut though, and my last by him. He's off to some Aveda salon in South Florida. I wonder what my next student will be like.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My sister was crossing the street at a crosswalk with a walk light. The woman was making a turn when she hit her. Now my sister has to hire a lawyer to get this woman and/or her insurance company to pay for any of this.

When I got hit by a car (the exact same situation) I was told that one should get an attorney pretty much regardless of what the other person and their insurance company does. Just to make sure you get what you deserve.

Which didn't help me at all, as the woman who hit me was uninsured (as well as driving with an expired license and not wearing corrective lenses, which her license required her to do) and had no money whatsoever.

Now my sister has to hire a lawyer to get this woman and/or her insurance company to pay for any of this. The woman's stance is that she did nothing wrong, because she had the green light. By definition, my sister had the green light too, and pedestrians have the right of way.

This is INSANE. Crazytalk. Total crazytalk. I have hit a person before (and it genuinely wasn’t my fault…actually, he kind of hit me…was running across the street, not at a crosswalk, and slammed into the side of my car). I was terrified and mortified and thought I’d killed someone. He got up and walked away with no injuries, amazingly enough, but I was terrified for him. How does someone get off acting like that? That’s not human! I’m so sorry your sister has to deal with that insanity. Fortunately, it should be pretty clear, pretty fast that the other woman has MAJORLY fucked up.

In other news, I'm back from a lovely evening with family flea, in the course of which I learned the following:

Oh, goodness. That’s just priceless.

I had a lovely evening, where I was totally spoiled by the people at my favorite quilt shop. Because they love me far more than they should, and they felt badly that I had a mini-meltdown this morning while trying to find my evidence (stamps in a “passport”) of how much of a percentage I was to receive off at the private sale tonight, they gave me the highest percentage I could have had off, even though I didn’t have the evidence of that (and, actually, even told them I wouldn’t have gotten that much off) (and yes, I think that’s the longest totally non-sense-making sentence I’ve ever written). So, I bought ten yards of fabulous purple minky fabric for 36% off. Now, I cannot even begin to describe to you what a steal this is. This shit is $20 a yard. And is the softest fabric known to mankind. I’m so very, very pleased, and feel so very loved and spoiled.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I think even if you hit a jaywalker YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE for hitting them.

Exactly. What is it with people?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

vw, you deserve to feel that loved. Every Bitch deserves to feel that loved all the time. People love you, and you are worth it.

ETA: recovery~ma for Ginger's sister. I can't really say anything helpful other than that. Other people are saying the outrage better than I can.

Ginger, count me in with the folks who are totally boggling at why this is even an issue. Pedestrian = king.

Tonight our cat, Miss Kitty - the wussiest cat evah - brought DH a dead mouse and demanded adolation. The "good" part, DH knows for certain that she brought the mouse in from outside.

Is it the weekend yet?

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Heh, I wish I could say the same about the mouse I found presented for my approval yesterday. Alas, it was one that snuck in somehow and Elliott left on the dining room floor for me. I gave him a good petting to let him know I appreciate his efforts. Although, I'm hoping I won't have to do it again. I've been mouse free for a number of months, so I hope it goes back to that.
