Awww, thank you. I like how I look now, too. But I do miss the Big Hair sometimes.
Drusilla ,'Conversations with Dead People'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Freaky. I like the now Jilli.
Well, here I am typing, bandaged left hand, hospital ID tag on my right wrist.
I rented a rototiller again, the same one that refused to work last spring. Only this time it has a brand new engine, and wheels that go full on or nothing. I managed to stall it, wrestling with the control levers. I went to the front to pull the ripcord...and rested my left hand on the hot unmarked manifold.
I should have known it was the manifold, but it was square and silver and flat and was just the right place to put a hand when pulling the ripcord.
Needless to say I screamed like Xander in S1.
Ok. worse than that.
I pulled it away reflexively, and looked at it for a few seconds. then decided I should run it under cold water. I did so and called Andi who was all "Go to urgent care!" I was all macho and stuff, and besides, the water felt good.
She gave me the ingredients of aloe, peppermint and lavender to mix together and I promised i would go to the clinic if it looked like it would blister.
I made the goop, wrapped a clean shop rag around my hand and taped it all down.
Then i went outside and tried to get the rented tiller to behave. I finally gave up and returned it to the shop, complained about it and then drove to the emergency room. It turns out Faribault does not have an urgent care after five pm on a Friday.
In any case, it looks like first degree burns. The PA asked me about a few things, and I told her what I could, and how I had cared for it. Then she had the nurse get me fixed up with some ointment, gauze, tape, and a wrap to go over it. He even gave me enough for several days. Cool beans.
Anyway, the pain is manageable, and I may not have to go back to the hospital. they told me to stop by if blistering forms. I hope not.
I wonder what that'll cost me?
Big Hair Jilli is cute as a button! I like the last picture the best. That half-smile, she's up to something.
Eta: soothing cool vibes to Daniel's hand
(((Daniel))) Ouch, that sound awful. Quick healing and no blistering -ma.
Great pictures, Jilli! You always look great, but I like current Jilli best.
ADORABLEJILLI!
Yay for Teppy Meds!
Yay for Suzi's raise!
BOOOO to new owners not renting to the awesomeness that is sj. And TeaCup Guy.
Jilli, I agree with ita. That girl is neat to look at, but Jilli = Now Jilli. Course, I'd probably feel differently if I knew you back then.
I am sick of interviewing already. I've had three this week and another tomorrow and probably 2 or 3 next week.
Our Welcome Home party is tomorrow and my parents are up at theor cabin for the weekend. Yay being here by ourselves!
OH!!!
DCJ! Don't so that, sillyhead. BAD MANIFOLD! No oil!
That's Tramadol, right? My cohort was prescribed some after a car accident, and he's still mortally embarrassed about how he behaved while on it. The lovely part is that what he did is completely unremarkable behaviour, for say, normal people, but there you go. He's only ever had the one pill. If only taking his medication weren't illegal...
I can only take one--two makes me looped. I save them for particularly painful evenings but man, oh man, is that really good stuff.
sj, I'm sorry about the house.
Good luck with the job search, Aimee!
Jilli, I love those pictures. Different but still pretty.
Oh, sj! That jut SUCKS. I'm so frustrated for you. There's no chance it could still work out?
Daniel, YEOWCH! Healing~ma to you.
Job~ma to Aimee.
So I bought a hammock last weekend. ND spent the first day complaining that it was a freak with no trees (he has this bizarre thing against hammock stands), but I don't care. It is simply lovely to lie in, especially when I put a comforter over it and grab a spare pillow for my head. I just spend the last hour outside in it. I basked in the sun and blissed out and felt very lucky to be me.
