Happy birthday, Aileann!
Heh - Emmett's doing his homework and Matilda's sitting on the floor looking at him expectantly. He's been making her laugh (just gurning and such) harder than I've ever heard her laugh.
When we were walking in from the car he was carrying her and she was happy and bouncing in his arms.
I said, "She loves her big brother."
He said, "Me love her."
I don't why it was cuter in caveman language but he was definitely sincere. Maybe caveman language is the best way to be schmoopy when you're 10.
Winding down to the end of baseball season here. We had an extra game tonight against a team outside our league. We were clearly a better team so coach had been giving some of the other boys turns at pitching and mixing things up. When last inning was called for time we were up 12-4 and we put in our hot pitcher to finish the night. His first pitch was about 75mph and the entire other team, parents, and umps burst out laughing. The batter jumped and put his hands up in surrender. After a few more 70+ pitches the umpire took the bat and said he wanted a piece of that. It was very good natured and fun and the other team was totally cool with Alex messing around. He doesn't normally throw the heat time after time, but he knew it was only a few pitches.
Also, this drought made for way too much clay dust. I'll be coughing the stuff up for days.
Ok. It's finally reached 81 degrees in the apartment. Which is just unfair, since it's 70 degrees outside. But, I'm a little less crabby, albeit still pretty miserable.
Now I just need someone to send my sorry ass to bed. I'm exhausted, but I'm also in the middle of a Desperate Housewives DVD and REALLY want to watch the next episode. But, I know if I do that, then I'll watch the one after that and the one after that, and then I'll never be able to get up in the morning. And I've got class to go to and comics to pick up and papers to write and babies to kiss. Ok...maybe not that last one.
Why has it been such a week for the Bitches? I vote we all drink heavily this weekend. Someone will have to drink for me, since the steroids are still working their way out of my system, but I still think it sounds like a good plan.
Anything for you sweety, I'll drink your share.

That's cool!
Bug! Go to bed! You'll feel so much better tomorrow if you do. Today is done. Get rest. Shut down your brain and have a good day tomorrow.
Oh, good! I knew I could count on you guys!
You can choose anything you like for drinking my share, but keep in mind that I really love appletinis. Maybe I should Kristin in charge of drinking those :).
Yes, sir!!!
Sorry, I'm still in coach mode. Sleep, li'l bug....sleeeep.
Now I just need someone to remind me that I live on the second floor in a very safe neighborhood, in a building filled with guys (who would hear me scream and totally come running, because they love me, and I bake them cookies and peppermint bark), and that no one is going to come through my open windows overnight and rape and kill me in my sleep.
Er....wow, VW, that suddenly freaks me out. Of course, I often have to get out of bed and re-check that I locked my door, and occaisonally have been known to get freaked out and lock my BEDROOM door, but...um....yeah, I got nothin'. (I also live on the second floor. Which no one could get ot from the outside. Unless you're a bottle rocket, which scared the hell out of me)
No one is going to comment on Sean EATING MOLDY BREAD???
