Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

So was Sherilyn.

Guh. Sherilyn Fenn. Looking back, I think she may have been the first sign that my Kinsey score didn't go all the way to the ground floor.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I guess the dentures are relatively new and he is not yet comfortable with them....maybe in Tennessee it is not uncommon to go without.

He hasn't visited us or his daughter (she is in San Jose) in over 4 years. For a while there he was afraid to return to California due to outstanding warrants. Not sure if that has been taken care of. Tomorrow marks 2 years sobriety for him - he is working to turn his life around...but still....interesting decision making with the teeth.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have an Aunt who stopped wearing her teeth many years ago--too much trouble. It was the cause of MUCH conternation and discussion in the rest of the family.

And my brother has a lot of anxiety about dentists. He lost a tooth, and hasn't replaced it for over a year. You can spot the gap whjen he grins and it drives me MAD. He's a professional guy in his 40s, fercryinoutloud. I am a good enough sister that I don't mention it to him, but it takes all my willpower.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

My dad has a crown that fell out, right near the front, and has been too busy with moving to get it replaced, especially since he also needs to find a new dentist. It shows, but missing one tooth doesn't bother me so much. I've got other friends who were missing more due to long term dental work. There just wasn't anything they could do about it for the time being. It was distracting, but not too bad. I can kind of even understand not wearing dentures at home, as I guess they get uncomfortable. My grandma sometimes took hers out for a breather. I still don't understand leaving them home, so you can't even wear them at meals or in company. But I guess he had his reasons. And yeah for the sober! No teeth is ew, but much less so than alcoholic.

not your mom's socks.

(As for Spider-Man 3, the less said, the better.)

Oh suckage. that's too bad. well - guess I'd better save us some seats in the heckling section tonight. At least it won't be a total waste of babysitter... it's a viewing room fit for buffistas. Though, if I make a joke about the black goo from X-files getting a second chance at stardom, will I hear laughs or crickets?

Thanks Cindy and VW. You hit the nail on the head. Still, I feel like I've been drinking dumbass cola for the past half of the week. I wanted badass cola. durn.

I found out that B-I-L left his teeth home ON PURPOSE. WTF?

Can you get him some plastic dracula teeth?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Well, it looks like the house for rent is ours as of June 1st, assuming the new owner agrees to fix the cellar stairs which are a bit iffy at the moment. I'm only tentatively happy right now, because I don't trust that anything is going to happen the way it is supposed to anymore.

sj, all the best. I hope you get this and that the landlord is cooperative about the repairs.
