I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

no coffee in house this morning

Fix this before I come up again or I'll turn my car right around!

It's quiet time at the law school because exams have begun and professors don't come in because they don't want to be cornered by nervous law students. Ahhh, peace and quiet.

Our wings are not tired.

I skipped, but had to scroll back to see what happened to sj. Stunned with the stupid. I really just don't understand.

Good news in Lauraland. I had my blood tested because I have a kidney infection. Whatever, I'll get rid of that. But I got updated cholesterol numbers. Bad stuff down, good stuff up. In 4 months from 320 down to 271. LDL went from 226 to 196 and HDL went from 56.4 to 69.6. The number that seems odd to me is the Triglyceride which was 240 and is now 78. I must have had a cheesy breakfast or something. Not taking any drugs, just oatmeal, fishy pills and not eating cheese fries 4 times a day. Still have a ways to go, but doc says keep on doing what I'm doing. Yay red wine!

Serial to mention I just got email from Robin's DH! OK, it wasn't like personal or anything, just his SUV newsletter, but still it was fun to see.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, Laura! Congratulations on the lower cholesterol.

YAY Laura - good health stuff is wonderful.

sj - still tweaked at that landlady. She should not be exempt from being acting like a reasonable HUMAN. Geeesh.

I found out today that the job op from yesterday was never really open to anyone but the person they offered. One of the upper level mucks wanted to bring this person in, so they had to do a staff needs to create a position. So obnoxious. Especially when the folks who will be working with this person don't even know they are being force fed a candidate.

not your mom's socks.

SuziQ - grrrr. that's truly suckish. It is also how we at [nonprofit] ended up with two (2!!) people in the same position at the same time (and it's not that big a desk). Still, it is really cool that a lot of people thought you would be good for the position - have you monstered the job description?

ETA: coffee situation fixed. And our favorite coffee place loaded me up with samples of new Zekes (checkit lisah!) flavors ... I have beans to grind. So it's safe, Sparky!

I hope the law is on my side here, but we'll see.

yeah. you can also threaten her and see if she'll cave. But, the thing that you need to think about before you go through any/all of this, is do you really want to live there? I'm all for principle, but it's a lot of effort.

Oy veh!

Sox, your Auntie M has nixed the trip to B'more on Sunday because they have to get back to the old folks' home to help with something called the Spring Fling and are leaving my place after breakfast.

Did I say something about it not being busy at work? Ima liar!

Sparky - poop. I was looking forward to seeing them. What do you think they'll be flinging?

Goodness knows. I'm not sure senior citizens should fling anything. Then again, I'm not sure they're all that dangerous to the rest of us if they do start flinging.

Anyhoo, I'm wearning my new espadrilles today and that makes me happy.
