Now you can luxuriate in a nice jail cell, but if your hand touches metal, I swear by my pretty flowered bonnet, I will end you.

Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec, that's awfully cold of you, in my opinion.

Oh for fuck's sake. Don't gimme a lecture about the worth of a human life.

Obviously I'm not going to sneak into his hospital room and jerk out his lines.

Obviously I'm not eager to see anybody in a burn ward.

If I don't have a mindless bromide handy for the trucker it's entirely because he was an idiot.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Have fun, Sparky! I went out to my daughter's championship bout last night. They lost 76-75, bummer. Did great, though, considering they were fielding about half the normal number of players so they had a lot of gaps to fill in and then one girl broke her ankle in the middle of the second period. It all came down to the last jam and they duked it out for two minutes without a lead jammer. Electifying.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, dammit!

On Sunday, April 29th at 9:30am, there is a severe traffic alert for the MacArthur Maze in Oakland. The westbound I-80 to southbound I-880 and eastbound I-80 to eastbound I-580 connector ramps remain closed until further notice. There is no estimated time of reopening the ramps.

That's my route home from SF! What a mess this is going to be. It's fucked up BOTH WAYS. I have an off-site Tuesday and Wednesday in the city.

Oh for fuck's sake. Don't gimme a lecture about the worth of a human life.

Hec, I know you're worked up, but that's no reason to snap at Sparky.

Thanks, Sail -- I'm thinking we'll have a lot of fun in the company of the Baltimore 'fistas and at the match. Sorry about your daughter's team's loss -- sounds like a heartbreaker. I do, however, remember some of the pics you posted of the remarkable bruises your daughter had so when you say "duked it out" I shudder to think!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Well, it's kind of you. I know that my wee sister and my parents will be gutted if and when they find out, because none of them like tattoos AT ALL (although I have some hopes that they may come around to seeing that it's a very pretty thing after all). My best friends are REALLY not keen on tattoos either.

My best friend's reaction to me getting a tattoo was, "It's pretty, but WHY would you want to DO that to yourself???"

My mother CRIED when my brother got his first tattoo. Suffice it to say that, although she too thinks my tat is pretty, she also thinks I desecrated my body.

And also - I can't think of the last time I considered any part of my body beautiful. I mostly just try to ignore it. I really like the idea of having something beautiful on my skin - even if nobody but me and the cat ever see it.

I totally get this. I mean, we all disagree with you, because you are *luscious,* but I totally get what you're saying. (Because, although it hasn't been pointed out in quite some time, I am Fay.)

What is even happening?

Oh for fuck's sake. Don't gimme a lecture about the worth of a human life.

She didn't; she posted one sentence -- one I was thinking, honestly.

Why would I bother.

The status is NOT quo.

Um. Okay. Awkward silence here.

So...how 'bout that sports team? I hear it does...stuff.

Oh! Funny segue. I follow Wil Wheaton's blog, and he posted this the other day. It's an exchange between him and his step-son.

I sat on the couch, sipped my Stone Pale Ale, and watched the Dodgers' struggle to retire the Pirates in the first inning.
Nolan walked into the room and said, "Who are you cheering for?"
The answer was obvious, so I said, "Lakers."
He nodded his head thoughtfully. "I'm cheering for the Phoenix Suns."
I looked at him. There was the slightest glint in his eye.
"Yeah, they're going to give the boys in blue a real hard time," I said, "I heard they have a cleanup guy who hit a bunch of touchdowns this year."
"Oh he's really good," Nolan said, fighting a smile, "he had a couple of eagles last time they played."
"I did not know that," I said.
"Yeah," Nolan added, "I think he's going to lead his team to the Stanley Cup finals . . . unless they have to play Newcastle early in the tournament."

Always Anti-fascist!

Fay, I understand, And yet, what Hec said. Honestly, it would be hard not to hate Trucker Guy, even though he is probably paying the price in a graphic way right now(I would have guessed that he would would have died...I guess I do not really belong in Quantico, after all.)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We took the dog and ambled over to Johnny Carson park to the Kiwanis Car Show before it got too warm. Some gorgeous cars of all eras, nice peeps, and an amiable and enthusiastic band of older guys playing 60s tunes. It's a very small town thing, literally in the shadow of huge TV studios. I hit up the craft booths and found the lady who makes jewelry out of vintage beads. Got a bracelet and two pair of earrings for $20!

Now I am home, we have the Yankees game on and I just had some dry salami and wheat thins. Everything would be perfect, except for the fact that I have a migraine. Feh. I have medicated and hope to feel more the thing shortly.
