Wash: So, two days in a hospital? That's awful. Don't you just hate doctors? Simon: Hey. Wash: I mean, present company excluded. Jayne: Let's not be excluding people. That'd be rude.

Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec! What's a good hairstyle for unruly curly hair on a long head/face, generously gifted with nose? Aside from a blunt cut, I don't know what to do with it.

First let us establish the sex which is the Zenkitty. Your nose is a gorgeous part of the whole of your entire face. As Ple or SMG will readily attest, having the kind of nose which is not on a plastic surgeon's chart is no impediment to great and distinctive beauty.

Curly hair is unruly because it is cut wet instead of dry. Blunt is often not the best cut for curly hair because it tends towards horizontal spread.

My best advice is to keep your eyes open and when you see somebody with curly hair and a great haircut, corner them immediately and ask where they get their hair cut. That's what my curly headed ex used to do, and she assured me this was the only way. Some stylists understand curly hair and some do not. Do you love your current stylist?

With my bias in plain view, I'll also note that as a viewer of brazillions of makeover pictures, people with strong features often look better with short hair. People seem to think you can better balance strong features with bigger hair, but as a matter of composition this is not always so. The biggest mistake I see with bad hairstyles which are actually a detriment to somebody's looks is too much width on the sides, especially from the top of the head to the bottom of the ears (aka, the dreaded mushroom effect). That really diminshes both the eyes and the cheekbones - which are usually things you want to emphasize.

The dreaded triangle! I have a nice cut now for both curly or when I decide to straighten it. My hairdresser was in some sort of perfect zen hair thing. I wasn't even going to get it done that day because I wanted to wait until closer to April so as to better impress the SFistas, but Mr. Jane was doing his, so I did mine. So now I have an awesome color and the one true cut. Also, I think she was a tad drugged at the time.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Ugh. Kinda sickly day today. My belly/head/back/everything was hurting. I had been doing well on just ibuprofen, but I caved around 6 and took a darvocet. I still have a lot of the scrip I got when I came home from the hospital, so I think I've been doing okay. I am tired of being tired, but know it's part of the whole "recovering from major surgery" thing, so I'm trying to be all zen-like. Mostly by watching TV incessantly.

Aims---great hair, BTW!

Take care of yourself Robin. Take the drugs as you need them. Glad you're home. Watch The Riches!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Thanks, Robin!

I'm sorry that you're tired of being tired, but tv is GOOOOD!

How long are you off work?

(Still like to pop over some evening before you go back, if that's ok. You might be sick of visitors, though. Which I totally get.)

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Aimee's hair is even sexier in person. I haven't been online at all today, so I got to be surprised when I got to their house to sit on the baby (who, ftr, is NOT a baby and is the cutest little princess on the planet). Oh, and Aims--when I saw Robin on Sunday she said, "Where do you get your hair done? That is a *great* cut!" Considering it's been 6-8 weeks since its been cut, that was a true testament to E.'s mad skilz. (I really need to get back in, come to think of it. When do I get paid, again...?)

Yeah--I am totally planning to go have E cut my hair when I get well enough! I go back to work next week, but get to work from home--although I have to add a new employee this friday, which I am doing off the books. My Mom is coming next week, too.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Cass, can you send me your phone numbers? I'm not sure I have the current ones.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

She's recommending a weekend at hospice for Mom just go give us a break, and hot and cold running aides and volunteers thereafter to ease things for us a little.

That is a wonderful recommendation, Beverly. I hope it helps you as much as I think it will.

Aimee's post-haircut picture is how I always picture her. Mrowr.

I am Skimmy McSkimmerson, so...hugs and glitter all around!
