I keep hearing stories about people kept on planes on the tarmac for hours and hours ... doesn't this count as unlawful imprisonment or something? I mean, anyone else who locked a bunch of people into a small, confined space for any length of time would be looking at some serious legal problems, right?
Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I suspect you give up certain rights when you purchase the ticket. The airlines & staff can make decisions you don't necessarily agree with regarding your travel for various reasons. In these cases, I don't think the airports had empty gates to unload the travellers. Poor planning, certainly a horrible way to treat customers, but I don't know if the travellers could win a legal argument.
But then, I'm no lawyer and I've never read the fine print on my airline tickets.
I think that by buying the ticket and getting on the plane you consent to being detained on it while it is under air traffic control/airport regulations. America West may be a bunch of idiots but the decision about where they roll to on the tarmac isn't completely in their hands.

I guess we now know why your DH was grounded for so long in San Antonio and I'm now glad he was despite the misery of sitting there for 4 hours.
We do? What happened? My news is all John McCain and traffic. And now adoptions.
Hooray calculus! It would be instructive for Hil's student to be given another similar problem where the answer is not a cube, but that's a lot of work to go through.
I can't see one of the Em pics, but the one I can see is pretty adorable. Love Owen's shirt!
Thanks, Sparky. Ugh, tornados are terrible.
Thanks, everyone. Chris had a great birthday. His party is next Thursday, so he's still got some more excitement to come.
Meanwhile, I can't stop watching Pearl. It's so wrong, and horrifying, really, but so so funny.
It's been pretty quiet in here this morning, which means I paid bills. They're all gonna be early! YAY! Love it when I get myself together and do stuff like that.
ignoring scary math stuffs
Happy Birthday, Christopher!!!
It's a lovely day here. I went for a walk at the beach with my overweight dog at 7:30 this morning. This should be a habit. Does one day make a habit?
I'm at work. Woke up this morning and NO FEVER! YAY!
So far I have a giant ballon and there was a notice that they are catering lunch for us today. I was worried about being able to eat whatever it was because the people doing the ordering don't know I'm a vegetarian. But my supervisor assured me there'd be stuff for me to eat.
