Thanks for supportive-y thoughts and whatnot. I mean, I do see that she has a point, and the guidelines are there. I'm just... not very savvy with this stuff yet. I work at learning, but some of this stuff, it's like I don't understand the language to even go find it. The subject matter I'm good at, it's the dissertation training (note: I am not in a Ph.D. program) that I'm trying like hell to pick up on the fly. So, I totally get her point, and subsequently, I feel like a horse's ass. But I'm letting it go. I could have found the information in a better way, she could have maybe not been so harsh about it. (I don't need to be handheld, but shit, I don't need to be told to fuck off.)
Anyway. Yes, the letting go is a slow process, but hopefully a good night's sleep will help with that. Thanks, y'all.
(can someone explain the bees?)
(ps- sorry for whining about this, I just have Teh Issues regarding disapproval from authority figures)
(I'll be all better tomorrow!)
Still no voice, but at least I seem to have stopped being a snot machine.
It's possible that doing the huge amount of work I did outside, plus the painting inside was not the wisest plan. On the other hand, I almost have the garden shed sort of organized, which may be a miracle. I discovered a number of things that I had replaced because I couldn't find them.
The painting I'm doing just the cabinet over the stove, so there's a plastic dropcloth between me and cooking. I think I'm having toast for dinner.
exclamation points...explanation points
Had to laugh at this. Dad taught me to call them shriek marks. Which I did, until my 3rd-grade teacher got on my case about it.
Blah.
Barely made any money on the sale today. Big stuff still here. They are getting listed on CL, as we speak.
I am also so freaking behind in school, it is ridiculous.
{{{Nora}}} I so feel your pain. I was fortunate to get a kindly professor who assisted me in finding the resources to get back into academic writing. She politely pointed out that my writing was nice, brief and to the point, but that some profs might take issue with it. I wish your experience had been more like mine. The prof totally should have been cooler about it.
I just took a bath (Lush Butterball and a few squirts of 13 Monkey [chocolate!]) and then rubbed myself down with the Soft Couer (honey/chocolate massage bar). Now I'm eating freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. What a lovely Sunday evening!
My Sunday has included seeing Daisy Jane off to the airport (boo!), sleeping A LOT, arranging my tattoo appointment, laundry, dishes, weightlifting, and vacuuming. I am now about to watch The Prestige. Other than the absence of the lovely DJ, it is a good day.
Also, if anyone ever has the chance to host the fabulous Daisy Jane, you must do so. She is a wonderful house guest and ever so much fun to be around. LOVE!
juliana, are you available for a phone call?
