Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Vortex, I like what ChiKat wrote. I also like lisah's suggestion, but ChiKat version will come across as more of a "helpful team player" sort of thing.

well, there's some history here, she's tried to get out of her department doing work for me before, even though they're the only ones who do it. plus, she's mad that my position exists, so there's that fun thing. I need to shut down this madness now.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Speaking of tv, Steven mentioned loving the show "Highway Patrol" when he was a kid and desperately wanting to see it again. I did some research, found it's not been released in any official capacity but spent $200 for a set made off the original 16mm. For this, I got "best girlfriend ever" award, but it's also half the reason he's not ready for our trip! I should have waited until after we returned to give him the damned dvds of procrastination doom.

Damn, I'm impressed javachik. Also, bummed anew that you're leaving this Monday instead of the next one. I guess I'll have to come to California again. Won't that be a hardship!

"this is your department's job, your people didn't do it. Stop trying to make me do it and get the shit done.", with a side of "yes, I COULD do it, but it would take a lot of my time, and it's not my fucking job"

I tend to be a bit of a wuss, and would probably go more with something like, "I'm sorry, but what you have asked is not in my job duties. If you would still like me to do blah, blah, blah, then please speak to my supervisor for approval, and ask her to contact me directly with the request."

Who am I kidding. I would probably stay late to do the work, getting it done late if that were possible, while griping to all my friends and coworkers. Unless I literally couldn't get it done, in which case I would probably say that I literally couldn't get it done and why. But I would think afterward that I should have said something like what I have above.

eta: I took too long to type, but the other suggestions look good!

Our wings are not tired

vw, I just caught up and saw that you were looking for Guitar Hero II for the XBox 360. I've got it. I picked mine up at Best Buy the day after they were released. I was in Target here in Pasadena yesterday and they had a bunch of them there.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I need to shut down this madness now.

Then I'd send the same email I wrote before, but I'd cc her boss.

yeah. her boss is my boss, and we are on the same level. For a bunch of reasons that have nothing to do with me personally, she doesn't want her people doing any work for me. I don't want to be the person who CCs the boss on everything, but I guess I'll have to be.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I did what I was told and called my hairdresser. I have an appointment on Thursday to have it re-colored and heat set this time. Money wasn't mentioned, but I shouldn't have to pay for this, right?

Absolutely you need to come back!

Okay, off to old job to pick up my stripped laptop. Have to love one benefit of a mass-layoff: the offer to buy my IBM laptop (T42), its LCD monitor and the docking station for $200. Can you say "SOLD"?
