Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I need to clean the bathroom. I really don't want to.
Cashmere, I'm sorry because I know how much that news would stress me out if it were my baby boy. I hope you can get an evaluation set up soon.
And try to hold on right now to all the wonderful things about him. Even if his speech is somewhat delayed, you know he's smart, he's social, and he's quite capable for such a wee thing.
FWIW, I've noticed that most of the kids I've observed--certainly my daughter among them--have taken a while to say their own name. Franny would respond to her name, she even was able to recognize the letters in her name, long before she'd say it herself. If you asked her her name, she'd tell you "Me." Isaac is now saying his name is "Me" as well. I know they are looking at several benchmarks, not just the name thing, but I wanted to reassure you that on that count he certainly seems normal to me.

Yes. You're missing the next step.
amych, did you actually figure that out? I'm guessing yes because I know you, but I"m still impressed/boggled.
Ellie didn't learn her name until she went to daycare. She knows it now, but I'm positive it's only because of hearing it a lot while being differentiated from a group of other kids.
Yay, Empress! Tons of job~ma to you!
Very exciting Aimee! Go you!
I have not had a good day. I'm doing ok right now, but I'm waiting for it to hit me. This is not going to be a pleasant weekend. Or couple of weeks in general, more than likely.
I'm sorry, vw.
You're missing the next step.
... profit?
{{Cashmere}} Einstein didn't talk at all until he was 3 - or so I've heard... don't worry too much. I know someone near and dear who had ear infections that impacted her hearing & speech - all from allergies! And she's a bad-ass buffista-wannabe boat designer living in New Zealand now. Who spells like Sparky, yes - but she can figure out Miracleman's tag too...
