To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Mal's not the only one you should consider doping for the flights.

not your mom's socks.

Dear [educational non-profit]: "I'm seeing some unusual data - what did you do wrong?" Is. Not. A. Helpful. Email. {erg: should I have posted this rant in tech?} Blarg. Need more coffee. And a mallet. I want to be a writer again, now please.

Kristin T - another poet to check out for your gang is Lynda Hull - The Only World. My students (albeit 9 years ago) loved the change from purely confessional ... especially as it was still dark matter. She didn't publish a lot before she died (Ghost Money and Star Ledger), but it's beautifully formed urban stuff.

Sparky - DH last night said "well, why don't you go to the F2F?" He's at interviews down your way both tonight (5pm) and tomorrow afternoon (1pm)

"well, why don't you go to the F2F?"

I always did like your DH.

My DH and I will be in your neck of the woods tonight, having dinner with a hang gliding friend.

Coffee sounds like a good idea.

We're going to try the tapas place you suggested, I think.

eta: someone needs to buy these boots, because I can't, even at $45, when the store won't carry my size. [link]

Dear "support" center:

I sent you an e-mail explaining why the instructions weren't working for me. In response, you sent me the instructions again. If the instructions worked, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Sparky (and others) I remembered that Marshalls sometimes has Le Crueset at a good price. Not reliably, but I've gotten some good household things there.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, Marshall's/TJ Maxx are great for that sort of stuff, if you're willing to drop by every so often and just grab it when you see it. All my good knives came from there.
