The thing that creeps me out about the Indigo Children article is the idea that some parents need to think their kids have magical abilities in order to think of them as precious. It strikes me as a relationship deeply stuck in the Imaginary.
Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Gronk. Overslept. No clue why ::cough::. Mom was asleep when I left, so I'll take that as a good sign.
So, to sum up - Work is trying to kill me, I stress over mom's health because I can, school=stress, ummmm...oh, hey, my kids are doing great. Checking against Sparky's list - messy, check opinionated, double check naughty, check sweet, check (for the most part) adorable, check (at least I think so) affectionate, big check and normal check - this is the most debatable.
My DH has a friend whose wife homeschools their four kids. The kids are weird - polite, but automatons - which I don't blame so much on the homeschooling as the wife. She's a horrible control freak and I think this is the reason she chose to homeschool, not the kids (their personalties or the way they learn best) or the schools they'd have to attend.
I would say we know the same people, but my friend's wife in this mold is not currently in the US.
I think the biggest problem with your child being an Indigo Child is...where do you get the telepathic flying cat to be the kid's constant companion?

They're very expensive. In fact, the only cat more expensive than a telepathic flying cat is a hairless telepathic flying cat.
Oh, and hey, it's Free Cone Day at Ben and Jerry's.
Clearly they know how to celebrate beth's birthday.
There's a supposed next evolution after Indigo kids and that's Crystal Children. There isn't a wikipedia entry on them so you'll have to google it. I don't think that Crystal Children are here yet but they are supposed to be full on telepaths and stuff. It's really, really weird.
Huh. I've been recommended to apply for the English department's writing tutoring program (I've heard this is a HIGHLY selective program...being recommended is a huge deal) next year. I have no idea if I'll do it. Probably not. But, I want to know who recommended me!
I knew I missed something important...
Happy Birthday, beth

Huh. These people are... weird. Although I have to admit it'd be fun to live in their reality.

I was one of the first Indigos to arrive. I was called in by the decision of humans to unleash atomic weapons upon the earth; I arrived mere days before Hiroshima was attacked - obviously "too late" to stop the atomic attacks yet "right on time" -- my energy was needed here urgently, and I was an early responder. I had originally planned to arrive around 1960-1970, but I arrived sooner than that, because of the calls of beings of light who needed to anchor higher energy fields into the human grid as soon as possible.
Awesome!
Is it just me, or do they sound like the 4400?
