Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

Cash - have they not had the vaccine? Our pediatrician pushed it pretty hard here. K-Bug got it naturally while CJ had the vaccine.

I'm sorry about the shingles. Both DH and my father have had them and ouchie to the extreme.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I called my doc this afternoon to call in the script but nothing happened. I assume they left for the weekend before they got around to it. I'm just going to try to keep my hands off the rash (the blisters are where the virus lives) and wash my hands as much as possible.

As much as I hate to say it, I've got a $75 urgent care co-pay and I hate to spend that for something when I already know what it is. I'm just pissed my doctor didn't give me the script for the anti-virals, just in case, rather than waiting for Monday.

She knows I've got two kids under three that haven't had chickenpox yet.

Thank you! I'd forgotten. I know Owen has had it (even though it's not 100% proof against getting it). I can't remember if Liv's had it yet. I'm going to go check her vaccination record to see.

Cash, if it's just the money, we'll take care of you. Getting the anti-virals fast is really important in terms of how long and how severe this infection is going to be, and we wuv you.

What is even happening?

Cashmere, Owen was probably immunized at 18 months. Your kids are a good age to catch chicken pox, if they do catch it, and they're perfectly healthy, strong babies. It's okay.

Please don't fret about them. Chicken Pox can be harmful to people with compromised immune systems, and in some daycare centers, kids were getting that flesh eating strep in their Chicken Pox sores -- that's because their parents were sending them back before they were healed over. If your kids get it, they will be fine, and they will be more immune to Chicken Pox than if they were immunized.

I want you to get that anti-viral before Monday, though. Is there any chance of that?

It's really, really important to get it right away, to minimize the effects of the Shingles.

What is even happening?

I'm sorry, that was a cross post.

Does your doctor's office have anyone on call? This is important enough to call about.

I've got a $75 urgent care co-pay

You got a Paypal account? If $75 is stopping you from urgent care and a prescription for the anti-viral cream happening tonight, then please do not let it. You just found $75 under the couch.

X-post with Kristin.

What Sean said. Except that my part of it was under the fridge where the cats batted it.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'll call my doc's office and see what I can do. I'm fairly sure they don't have an emergency number (they're not very big on service). We've got the money, I just hate to spend it.

I'll make the calls first thing in the morning and see. I'm pissed at myself for not asking for the script before I left her office. I wouldn't have filled it unless I needed it. I know that time is a big factor with anti-virals.

I'm a doofus.

And you guys are all sweet.

Most doctors have an answering service who will page them. Our pedi is cheap, so he leaves his pager number on an answering machine. Our GP's number either forwards to his service, or to the service of whatever doctor is on call.

Please try now, and see if they do. You want to start the anti-viral medication (it's not a cream) tonight, if possible. /nag
