Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

Feel better, Todd.

I just got a call from my mother, telling me that I have to go to the doctor to make sure I don't have bronchitis. She can't explain what use going to a doctor would be, since I've got no fever, I already have an inhaler, and most bronchitis is viral, anyway, so antibiotics would be useless, but she's insisting that, if I'm coughing, I must see a doctor. (She doesn't seem to get the "Yeah, I've been sick, but I drank lots of fluids and took OTC medicine and rested and took care of myself, and now I'm still coughing but I'm feeling better than I was before, so this seems to be getting better" idea. Coughing = bronchitis = doctor.)

(I chose not to tell her that I was wheezing a bit last night. I know that she'd tell me to go to the emergency room.)

It took me three hours, but I have antibiotics and codeine. The doctor thinks it's probably viral (as do I), but that my painful ear may be a bacterial ear infection, so anti-Bs. She gave me codeine in a pill when I complained about the horrors of the cherry-flavored cough syrup. I'm nominating her for sainthood.

My voice is now gone, too.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

More get-well glitter!!!

:: strews and scatters and take my own medicine::

I was gonna ask if your temp was normally that low, Hil. Maybe a post-fever reaction that will stabilize?

Maybe. Normal for me is usually somewhere between 96.8 and 97.2. Below 96 is just weird.

Yay, Juliana!

Also, get better, Hil, Sean and Todd. If this keeps up, we may have to quarantine the thread.

Hil, it's normal to have a temp lower than, well, normal when you have a cold. So you should watch it but not worry about it. Your mom sounds like she wishes she could do something to make you feel better!

Hope you feel better soon, Todd & Ginger!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Congrats, juliana!

Get better fast, all you poor sick people.

I'm reading an "alternative education" message board. Somebody please tell me that this person is joking. (Unfortunately, I don't think she is.)

Math is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. Nobody on earth uses it other than math teachers. By the way, science shouldn't be enforced as much as it is either. Most science is either totally pointless or completely immoral anyway. Also, physical education (aka forced weight loss program) has got to go. Students would benefit so much more from art, drama, and music classes. Careers in these areas make huge money and don't go against anyone's morals, the way science does.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I think their brain is missing.

Hil, that boggles the mind.

IOeducationN: My alumni association has found me! How do they do that? The week after I got married I had mail from them using my husband's last name as my last name (an error they corrected with no help from me the next mailing). Now they've put me on a DC area mailing list.
