AmyLiz, at brunch today I saw a girl wearing the perfect t-shirt for you. It said, "Make cupcakes not war."
Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh, I need that T-shirt.
I thought you'd like that.
I uploaded about a billion pictures today until Flickr decided to be uncooperative. There are about 8 sets of Buffista stuff so far. On to other chores, but I may get around to captioning some time this week. [link] Enjoy.
Skimming a bunch to give ~ma and hugs where needed, and to say the two following things:
Laura, I'm so sorry to hear that Brendon will probably be needing a new girlfriend soon. I hope he learns from this mistake.
Emily, as a fan of your face for fifteen years or so now, I'm trying very hard to not be offended at this idea that your face is bland and lacking in character because your self image is not about me, but PLEASE!
Yeah, I think you have a very fine face indeed.
vw, great shirts! Suddenly, I wish I could road trip to Boston for cupcakes and fun shirts and Cindy and vw and Nora and other buffista meetage.
Oh, that would be fabulous fun!
I'm definitely not leaving the apartment today. It's been raining sleeting all day and we've heard a ton of sirens. Just now there was a four car accident right outside our apartment. No one seems to be badly hurt but still scary.
Today is actually beautiful here! It's about freaking time. I have to go get salt, and quarters and cigarettes. And take out the trash, so I will be shortly going into the sunshine. Yeah!
Request: I am going to do a mini-unit, and my student have requested "Suicidal and Depressing, Dark Poetry" mostly so they can be all melodramatic and make fun of it. They are odd. I love it. So, I have some ideas (Baudelaire, anyone?) but I would love to get some suggestions. I'm sure y'all will mention some great poems or authors that I would completely space on. (And strangely enough, searching for "Suidical Poetry for Teenagers lesson plans" gives me NO joy. I can't imagine why.)
JILLI -- I'm probably going to have a culminating activity -- Goth Poetry Day. I know, I know, but I have NO gothy kids at school, and if catering (mostly) to the stereotype gets 'em to read poetry, I'll happily do it. Can you suggest some good sites on What is Goth? Pix are great, and some toungue-in-cheek would be great! They love to be able to dress up and EMOTE.
DAMN, I love my job.
