And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

whoo, PC!

I'm tired (couldn't get to sleep last night and kept waking up), still sorta sick (despite my trying to get rest last week) but slightly perked up due to finding out I got a 3.5% raise. Which may not sound like a lot, but for academic support staff, um, it is. Usually the ceiling for that is 4% for super total rock star amazing god-level work and a championing and respected manager. 3.5 is high on the just normal being awesome scale.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Awesome, Nora! That's really great. I got a measly 1% raise since I'd only officially been an employee for one quarter. Which is understandable but annoying anyway, since my evaluation was so glowing.

So, if anyone recalls my wailing and whining about my starting salary in June, this puts me up where I wanted to be. So yay!

Yay, Nora!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Cool, Nora!

The last three or four years I've gotten 2%-3% raises. Before that I had a 5% raise, and the year before that I think it was 9%, and before that I had a couple of years of 10% raises. Then there was the year I got the 37% raise (but that was when I was rather underpaid compared to the market).

I think lots in the IT industry have had small raises in recent years.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I get a 3% raise every year. It's nice to know that my salary will go up, but I wish they had merit based raises because I would rake up. My starting salary was higher than they usually pay for my job too.

Me too - they call it a "cost of living increase." In theory we also have a merit-based bonus system, only none of the middle management can figure out how to do the paperwork for it.

Compassionately intolerant

Feelin' pretty good today, I must say.

Yay Nora's raise...may you grow and flourish well past her expectations next time around.

Sore as all fuck. I ran twelve miles yesterday.
Go P-C. Get on whichyerbadself. I'm in awe...

And still? Never gonna run. Spike's chip kept him from harming mortals, mine keeps me from running more than a block at a time. BUT, I am walking my butt off. Literally.

I've walked 4+ miles everyday for the last week. Granted, to do the Marathon, Ima havta start upping that soon, but at least I'm consistent. My bff is being a huge help with her zeal to hit the bricks each morning.

The shoe and pedometer research has been less than uplifting but I'm hoping I have that resolved. Now, it's all about the miles and the time.

I have no aspiration to be a rockstar in the marathon walking world, but I DO want to make it to the finish line without being swept from the field.

In '97, when I did the AIDSRide, on our 110 mile day, I made 89.5 before being forced off the road. That blew...I had the power but not the speed...which has always been the case. In high school I was a varsity long distance swimmer. Never won a race, but I completed them ALL, even the ones I should not have been entered in. The coach called me his 'point for the team gal'.

Wish me speed!

Sore as all fuck. I ran twelve miles yesterday.

What'd you do to make someone chase you twelve miles?
