Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I was reading a local free weekly (The Weekly Dig,) and it had an article about the month (March) in review. They don't generally do this for most months, it's not like a regular thing or anything. So, I read this and think of the Buffista fists shaken at March:

If February was the loud, overmedicated playground bully who always got sent to the principal's office, March was the mute who sat in the back of the class, sulking, drawing on stuff, and pulling his own figernails out - you know, creeping the shit out of everybody, but not really hurting anything. Until, that is, March kidnaps your cat and barbecues it in a Satanic ritual. It's always the quiet ones you have to watch out for.

The status is NOT quo.

My hatred of March is quite old. It started screwing around with me when I was a teenager and never stopped.

brillig

Yeah, March is the nastiest one. You know winter is over and it *will* be warm, but you've got to suffer through the cutting winds and unexpected snow for one more month.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Although in some places you can get both in the space of a week. Adds to the torment.

Wow. Pictures. Wow. I'm like speechless. Too much hawt and cute and just wow.

My Thursday is being kinder than any other day so far this week. Things are actually looking up. Kinda nice.

What is even happening?

Really P-C, just one little dinner with Teppy's boy (drag -- yes!) and your parents, and you'd get written approval to start making out with white she devils, right in front of them, from here on in.

In meme news, I had nasty, exhausting dreams last night and woke up sore. Bleh.

Kristin, did you get any feedback on your sleep study, yet?

I can't even.

Never liked T.S. Eliot, and I think the number of times I had to study Prufrock is what did it, but what cemented it was how wrong he was about the cruelest month. It has always been March for me, in spite of some close family birthdays. It is usually the "all the shit I haven't gotten done coming home to roost" month, but as we've seen, it often blooms further into all sorts of unpleasant asstasticness.

::narrows eyes at March::

Soon you'll be history, month. Don't let the door hit you in your lamb-y ass on the way out.

Thanks for asking, sweetie.

Very little, alas. My "feedback" involved one of the nurses at the doctor's office calling (after repeated calls from me) and leaving a message on my voicemail saying the results were "normal." I knew after the study that it wasn't likely to net anything interesting--I had a rare night of decent sleep and woke up rested. Still, it's really annoying that no one has followed up with me since the problem did not magically disappear just because those results came back normal.
