I referred him to our COO ... but as far as I can tell, he didn't want to talk to a woman. Which is kind of tough, since we have ONE man on staff these days.

Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Geek love at its finest.
Geek love is great love. Hubby and I often discuss high energy physics and world history.
Aww, Teppy. I'm so happy for you and your geek love. That's an adorable story.
Just one of the things I love about my Buffistas.
we have ONE man on staff these days
I'm still the only woman tech supporter. We've got women doing initial call answering and routing, but I'm the only tech. It makes me smug.
I just got off a call with someone who wanted me to do something I'm not authorized to do and, actually, CAN'T do, and wouldn't stop blathering to me about how someone who isn't here anymore did it for him earlier, and how this is what he needs. jeez.
I get that all. the. time. Also, the rules periodically change. So yeah, maybe they could do it before, now they can't. When I tell you that the rules have changed, don't say, "Huh. Can you ask (boss) about that" I don't need to! I gave you the answer!
I usually go ask boss anyway to shut them up.
I love this story! Geek love at its most adorable.
This is the entire staff (yeah, all 18 of us). It's a not-for-profit, so there tend to be a lot of women anyway, but we've ended up with only the one man.
Teppy, I love that story! Thank you for sharing.
When I worked at a credit card company, there was a customer who insisted that only men be allowed to handle his account, as he didn't trust women to handle his financial stuff.
We canceled his account.
