I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

So hey! Dancing was great, and I had a wonderful time.

However, I apparently set myself on fire.

This is not nearly as bad as it sounds, as my companions freaked out and started patting down my head, putting the fire out before we got to the pour-beer-and-tea-on-her stage. But I'm still pulling bits of char out of my head.

I bet this is going to make a great story one day! Hell, it makes a great story now.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Heh. I did that once. It didn't look really noticably bad. Of course my hairdresser freaked the fuck out.

Back when I had long hippie hair, I set my bangs on fire more than once.

Hey, it was an accident! I was having a very engrossing conversation on the possibility of god.

Anyway, it was only a big of a singe. I was due for a quick snip anyhow. *grin*

Art Crawl!!!

When you set yourself on fire - pour tea, but PLEASE DON'T throw alcohol on yourself!!!

I'm glad you're okay and that you were having fun.

Also, the Easter Aisle in my local Walgreen's captured me and forced me to buy a bag of regular Cadbury mini-eggs and Royal Dark Cadbury mini-eggs and two Royal Dark Bunnies with Raspberry Filling. (I wonder if Clovis has a dark choco bunny evil initiative?)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

You know, I think of myself as close to my sister, but we maybe speak thrice yearly.

She's a hermit who screens ALL her calls and makes me look social.

Paul's family occasionally thinks we all don't get together enough, when it feels like OMG, we're ALWAYS having A Family Event.

Also, Ple hates her new haircut.

I like the new-new one! They excused us from JD at 10. No more cases. I took a bus up to the U District, hit my fav barbershop, and had the girl there (who has almost identical texture issues to mine) fix it. She said she could try either a short Louise Brooks kind of bob, or just pixie it up.

It's pixied up. More Factory than Farrow.

About to spend my unexpected afternoon at home HIGHLIGHTING!!!

Ahem.

Oh, your hair.

I'm sorry -- despite the mostly hair content of your post, I, for some reason, thought you meant taking a yellow (or pink) marker and highlighting passages.

I'm glad you got a cut you like!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Hi, Bitches!! I've been skimming 'n skipping for the past, oh, couple of months, but I do lurk and try to catch up on the doings of all of you.

{{{ND}}} They picked the wrong guy. I'm sorry.

Yay, to Kat & Lori! And, all kinds of ~ma to the babies for growing and cooking more.

I am plumb tuckered out these days. Spring break is next week and I can NOT wait. Although, I have a ton of grading to do as well as job search stuff and taxes. Whee. So, I won't really have a week "off." I will, however, have a week where I can sleep and not teach. I love it, but it's exhausting.

Student teaching is going very well. Had my 4th observation today. My Univ. Supervisor told me that just watching me made her tired because the class that she observed requires SO much attention/energy. But, she was impressed by the way I handled everything. Yay!

My mentor teacher rec'd me for a job here next year to the chair of the English dept. That made me happy. This is not my first choice of places to work, but it's not the bottom of the list, either. We'll see how the things on that front go.
