Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Remind your mom that she, too, is American.

She's not American. She's in India.

Because books.

SA! That's great news!

Maybe someone's trying to tell us we should have given up hope for Lent. It does usually occur in March...

In more mememe news, I went to my job interview and the chick isn't in today. WTF? I talked to her on Saturday and wrote it down. I have to go back Friday now. Great.

The bank thing is ... I don't know, par for the course right now? We're still having problems with Stephen receiving his unemployments for fuck's sake. But yeah, the woman at the bank knows the transactions aren't ours, and I guess we'll get a new account number and cards. (We better, I would think.) It's just ... I don't need this *this* week. Or any week, to be honest.

The thing is, it must be fairly common. The identity theft happened to my parents, and they're still dealing with the fallout two years later. Of course, if someone wanted *our* identities, rather than simply our money, they're going to be sorely disappointed. Our credit sucks.

I think we need Buffista Island for March alone.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

P-C, have you seen The Namesake yet? It's about this very thing and a very good film.

Trust my rage

Is there some scary-ass immigration employee, on a mission from God to fuck up all future generations, handing this selfsame script to all non-USian parents as they cross our border?

Oooh, this could be me. Except it doesn't sound like much fun.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I have a couple friends who want to see it, so we'll be seeing it soon, I hope.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Perhaps this article on making matzoh balls [link] will distract people from the horrors of March.

Now tagless for your comfort.

P-C, did your mother email you the CNN video clip about the 2% divorce rate for Indian arranged marriages? I thought of you when I saw it.

move out and draw fire

Go York! Choose York!

Or, you know, whatever you want to do, SA. But that is made of awesome.

Everybody else: Sorry. In like a lion out like a lamb?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

It's not just immigrant parents - the home-grown variety can be just as crazy.

I have not heard about that! Heh. That's better than the, what, 50% divorce rate for regular marriages? Isn't that what it is, or is that a myth?

I think we know a couple divorced Indian people. Well, besides my damn cousins in India who keep fucking things up for me by sucking at staying married.
