I'm kind of dreading the ensuing sugar high, but it's what? Like eating two marshmallows? Not that bad, right?
Well, marshmallows with a nice, crusty SUGARY shell! Heh. I'm still wiping tiny, sticky hand prints from my kitchen cabinets. The kids recovered a might quicker than the kitchen.
My favorite receiving blankets--and actually the ones the kids ended up prefering as well--were chosen based on texture as much as color. So if you pick materials that feel soft or silky or otherwise yummy, you can't lose.
Yes--this. If I had any skill whatsoever, I'd try to make a Taggie because they look easy and my kids loved theirs. But low, I have zero sewing skills.
I actually just saw a blankie tonight that was a piece of flannel or minkie or fleece that was bordered with a couple of rows of crochet. They are SO cute, and would be so quick and easy.
Go to bed, bug.

This is a great idea, vw. I have several flannel ones that someone made me. We use them as nap blankets. I've even been known to nap with one.

I'm going now. Really. This second. Shutting down. Turning off the tv. Stopping eating chocolate chips.

Awwww...
Set marshmallow on fire. Got it.
Glad you are sounding so chipper, ND. i'm sorry you had to go through so much stress and preparation to not get it, and i hope that it will pay off for you in some way down the road.
Any and all Portland/Seattle recs good. Friend is not vegetarian, but has nothing against eating vegetarian food.
ND, that is of the suck. I am sure the universe is saving you for a better opportunity.
Fay, I love both your hair and your apartment!
Jilli and Cass look stunning! That is the Jilli outfit to end all Jilli outfits. Also, I knew which one was Jilli just from the thumbnails ("No, I can't see anyone's head, but PINK!")
I think there needs to be a reality show involving Tom's mother and P-C's mother, but not Tom or P-C.
In me news, and possibly TMI, I'm really bored with being sick. R and I apparently picked up a parasite (other than the cat...other than the toddler), which means one or the other of us is laid out with stomach-flu-like symptoms every couple weeks. Cipro made the symptoms lighter (I haven't actually thrown up this time), but I haven't eaten in two days and can barely move.
Yuck. I'm sorry Raq. I don't know which is worse, having the ick yourself or having to care for the ick having person.
I hope the sleep was a deep and sound sleep when it came, vw.
Oh Raq, you poor things. I hope the parasite dies all the way off. Sheeesh.
I'm sad to say my prediction that Christopher was brewing a stomach virus was completely correct. I'm sadder it was confirmed at 1:00am. I'm happy I married the guy I did, because he cleaned up the bathroom. I just got out the clean jammies and tucked the sickie back in bed.
Speaking of marshmallows, how exactly do you make S'mores? You toast the marshmallow and then the heat from that melts the chocolate? Or do you toast the chocolate on the graham cracker in some way?
The words all make sense, but the need to ask the question... I think I was making s'mores in the womb. They're, like, original sin.
