Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

Ginger, I'd definitely try to get some experienced guidance before staging the intervention. One key ingredient is that your friend be sober when you have the intervention. The only one I was ever involved in was decades ago, and a professional led it. There were sessions with the leader (without the alcoholic) once or twice before, so we would know what we were doing. It would be a good idea to get close family involved, like you mentioned. Good luck!

Stephanie, I hope Ellie feels better. I suspect Chris is brewing up something similar. I told Scott to bring home Ginger Ale and Saltines, just in case.

This is the first time it's done it. I hope it doesn't become a pattern. It's quite a lovely (and was expensive...my parents got it for me for Christmas a couple years ago) pot. I hope it doesn't have to go to the trash.

vw, we have a thermal carafe coffee maker. This just happened to us recently. The pot just wasn't sitting quite right, and because it has a pause and serve function, everything went kablooey. Your coffee maker is probably fine. Just take extra care that you have the pot positioned correctly.

Trust my rage

I suspect Chris is brewing up something similar.

I hope not, for his sake, but moms tend to know, don't they. In that case, I hope it passes quickly.

Art Crawl!!!

I seem to be having an allergic reaction to something.

What it is - I haven't a clue but my arms and legs are really reg and my legs appear to have a rash -- itty bitty rash.

I wish I knew what it was.

I'm already taking prescription allergy meds. . . what else can I do?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Try some gold bond lotion, I hear that it's good for topical stuff.

What is even happening?

Over-the-counter Cortisone cream is good for rashes.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'm also going to reccomend the Aveeno oatmeal bath stuff because it is indeed the bomb.

Art Crawl!!!

Thanks - I'll pick some of the bath up on my way home from work. I actually have a prescripton cortizone cream I can use on places like my arms and legs.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Sent letter.

Waiting for angry swearing email back.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Vibing non-angry non-swearing helpful letter back vibes to you, Aimée.

So, at 6 months old exactly, Matilda is only about an ounce and a half short of having perfectly doubled her birth weight (6 lbs. 5.9 oz.) at 12 lbs. 10.5 oz. Her pediatrician admitted that she's petite but told us not to worry for even a second and pronounced her development "superb." She has great muscle tone, is rolling like a pro, and now has the tips of two barely visible teeth just beginning to break the surface of her bottom front gums.

I couldn't be prouder if she had taken a first at Oxford (though I really have only the vaguest notion of what taking a first at Oxford means, and I may in fact have botched the phrase entirely).
