My mom came and saw my apartment yesterday. She cleaned all the sinks and scrubbed all my dishes.
I used to tell my mother I'd gotten the place really filthy so she'd have something to do when she visited.
Buffy ,'Get It Done'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Is it true, this rumor I hear that it's Peev the Adorable's birthday?
When Brendon and I go to New York with the kids and animals we find it best to switch drivers every 2-3 hours. That way we don't get overly tired and it mixes stuff up. Frequent potty breaks and stretching of legs. The non-driver gets to watch a movie or play video games or nap.
He is totally Not Adorable!
Happy Birthday Pete!
Felicitations, Pete!
From yesterday:
I think I have a job, if I want it. At a family-run kennel, for cash under the table, maybe twenty (or more) hours a week. Essentially cleaning up poop and pee, walking the hounds, and scrubbing place down every day.
I'm kind of unreasonably excited by this.
That would be such an awesome job. Dealing with animals for 20 hours a week and getting paid for it? I don't have huge problems with poop and pee as a rule, so it wouldn't be all that bad. Especially considering that you'd be working with animals--who are straightforward about what they want, who accept you cheerfully whenever you pay attention to them, and who are content to just hang with you, as long as you're willing to, and make few, if any, other demands on you. I say go for it!
Aimee and Joe, I hope this move will bring you the joy and contentment you've been hoping for. I'm with everybody else in wishing you smooth move-ma, fast home-finding, and soon-settled-ma.
Sean, I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty, but I hope he'll be sorted out soon and back home with you and S.
No avalanches near Bitches! Stay safe!
I have a boring cell phone which can do magic things. I just refuse to pay extra for them, and only use it to (gasp!) make phone calls.

I'd pay someone to do that with my dogs and cat. It would take about 20 hours a week, easy.
So, what do people recommend? Yoga? Strength training?
Medication
Xanax. And lots of it. Barring that, some earplugs, Red Bull and red licorice.

Happy Birthday, Pete!

Mr. Pibb and Red Vines = Crazy Delicious!
Damn. I was just hoping Aimee would take my place here at JPL!
Oh well. I guess it isn't ALL ABOUT MY NEEDS.
Heh.
libkitty, there is no such thing as overreacting to an avalanche.
Gronk. Just not enough gronk in the world today.
Well, despite sleeping for crap and being all achy today, I do think that crashing at a friend's was a good idea. This afternoon, I'll decide whether to spend another night there or take the kitties and go home. The avalanche danger is now down to high, but they've indicated that it's likely the danger will increase within the next 24 hours. It's kind of interesting, actually. Apparently the problem is not just that we have LOTS of snow, but that the snow changes its crystalline structure in various conditions. In its current condition, they say it is likely to come down in a big shelf or sheet. Supposedly, this is very bad.
And at work today, a fire alarm. Joy. I really wanted to stand outside in the drizzle.
On the bright side, everyone is ok, and Rocky actually came out of hiding briefly this morning. Freya seems to be handling things very well, except when my friend's cat hisses at her through the door. That happened this morning, and the poor thing's tail was just quivering. I did notice that she was happy to be picked up, where usually she disdains being held unless she was the one to climb up.
Much moving ~ma to the Miracleborns and...
