Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh, shit, shit, shit, Sean. The knee, the morphine and the pharmacy, Tucson and back. The universe so very deeply owes both of you, big-time.

This. Sending all best thoughts to both of you, Sean. Plus findage for prescription filling.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I'm declaring it extra-love day. I just ran into a friend and heard a heart breaking story from him. rules, bureaucracy, and countries should not get in the way of love

Thrive to spite them

((( S & Sean))))

Billytea the pictures are just beautiful! Your wife is a very lovely woman and you both look extremely happy and content. It was definitely a highlight of my day to see those.

The other highlight was the Em-Mat story! I love hearing about Matilda and Emmett!

I had my oral surgeon consultation for getting my wisdom teeth removed. Because I get panicky about the dentist (and especially having dentist stuff in my mouth) he said I'd need to go under with general anesthesia, which is going to tack on another $2000 to the cost of getting my teeth removed. Luckily my dental insurance will cover 80% of the procedure. I'm not getting this done until the summer though.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My mother sent me a card with $20 for no real reason, and the card arrived opened with no money in it.

Obvious card-shaped things are notorious targets for crooked postal workers, unfortunately.

When I did customer support for USPS (AKA hell support), Christmas was a horrific time of year for that. Though it happens a lot other times. Honest postal employees want to smack around those losers.

I'm not going to call and yell at anybody. It doesn't seem worth it. It just kind of sucks and Mom's aggravated.

Oh, yeah, it's a very sleazy thing to do. But if she wants to send you stuff again, she might want to put it in a regular envelope. Somewhere in your postal connection system is a sleaze.

cereal

You might want to report it anyway, at least to the postmasters on either end. If there are multiple reports, they will pay more attention and check for a bad apple in their offices.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Though it's not always the postal workers... in my grandfather's neighborhood there was a thief who just went up and down the streets checking mailboxes and taking card-shaped envelopes; s/he, whoever it was, knew the neighborhood was populated by lots of older people who had trouble seeing out to the street (and their mailboxes) and weren't mobile enough to jump up and run after someone rifling through their mailbox even if they did see something suspicious. I think the asshole was eventually caught, but just about exactly none of the money was recovered.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Stupid mail thieving bastards.

Owen's been singing about making pies all day and our pie store is closed. Feh. I'm craving PIE.

askye, I'm glad you're getting this done. And yay for the coverage to pay for most of it!
