yeah, you can't use FMLA for a roommate, which is what the law considers you. Also, if there is said illness (god forbid) and the DP can make medical decisions.

Congrats, GC. Domestic partnership is a big step. It's all the paperwork of marriage, and all the commitment of marriage, so it really should be celebrated like a marriage. By which I mean cake and champagne. And I suppose porn.

Yes, I get into the day. Originally because of my Irish, then 17 years ago I got married this day! Whee! I think I shall go to a parade today. It helps when it happens on a weekend.
