Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh man, Cashmere did NOT need that. Not after the Shingles and shit. Poor thing. What is it with this week? And I'm sorry I am so late to the game, but vw, is your illness something everyone here knows? I am wondering what it is, but don't want to pry. You sound awesome about it All.

And javachik, I feel your pain--I, too, work in biotech (which, thanks to overheard in New York, I always think of as "BIOTCH!") and had our big thing fail about a year ago--so far I've still got a job, but every time they send out a press release, we wonder.

Meara, it does suck. But I know I've got a choice between the small biotches (heh) and big pharma. Big pharma is certainly a bit more settled and predictable, but I love start-up atmospheres. Still, ahm tahrd of the laid off thing. And I still don't know if I am being laid off; HR sent out a message this morning promising the news on Monday. All of the waiting has resulted in most of my colleagues getting excited (after the initial grief) about their next jobs because the market is hot and recruiters are breathing down our necks. In fact, I was offered a job yesterday on the basis of a phone interview, but they needed me to start next Monday. No way. BF and I want at least a month off for some travel. What is your function in the industry, Meara?

Welcome back, Hil!

Poor Cashmere! Oh, that's so disappointing!

And I'm sorry I am so late to the game, but vw, is your illness something everyone here knows? I am wondering what it is, but don't want to pry. You sound awesome about it All.

I don't know if everyone knows all of it. I think I've talked about the specific diagnoses here (definitely in my LJ), but if not, my list is: depression, PTSD, anxiety, and BPD. The BPD is usually the one I'm referencing, though, when I'm talking about the "illness," 'cause it's the ickiest diagnosis.

Took an anti-nausea med and slept for a while. Feeling a little better, but still blech.

Thanks for sharing it again, vw. That's quite a load you're carrying. Hope the anti-nausea meds work. Is BPD bi-polar disorder? Unfortunately I know that one well (runs in my family).

BPD is actually Borderline Personality Disorder. Sorry, sometimes I forget to define things.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Announcement: I am eating Graeter's. Toffee chip.

Analysis: YUM.

Gotcha. And I take it that Borderline Personality Disorder has nothing to do with Madonna?

What is even happening?

That's just what they want you to think, javachik.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

And I take it that Borderline Personality Disorder has nothing to do with Madonna?

No. But Vogue Personality Disorder does.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Madonna is way over the borderline.

Poor Cash!

Happy to see Hil back safe, plus she saw Nilly! Jealous.

(Hi, vw! I'm thinking of you.)
