Do you know what else has blood in it? Blood.

Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Welcome back, Hil!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Welcome back, Hil! Sounds like a wonderful trip!

What is even happening?

I need more information on this piano situation.

Welcome home, Hil!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Yay for Hil's safe return. Sorry to hear about the daylight saving time-induced piano hallucinations, though.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

OK. My mother has explained about the piano. She finally got someone to come and tune the piano. (I'm really the only one who plays it, and I've been away at school, and it hadn't been tuned in probably close to ten years and had become pretty much unplayable.) The tuner came and said that it needed way more than just tuning, so he took out the inside parts (I had no idea that was even possible) to work on it at his shop. So the outside of the piano is there, but there are no strings or hammers or anything.

Always Anti-fascist!

Tep, yeah, EI does look like Laurie right now. Like it, but it does seem that he has an alter or something.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Tep, yeah, EI does look like Laurie right now.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who sees it! It's just b/c of the facial hair, and a certain similarity around the jawline, and it's really only in action (versus still photos).

Our wings are not tired.

Welcome Back, Hil! I'm looking forward to the tales and pics.

Have a blast this weekend, Cashmere!

I'm buried in work. Blah.

Wow, doing a little catchup while home sick for the day, and all sorts of sucky sucky news! So very sorry, Aimee. Damn. And javachik, I feel your pain--I, too, work in biotech (which, thanks to overheard in New York, I always think of as "BIOTCH!") and had our big thing fail about a year ago--so far I've still got a job, but every time they send out a press release, we wonder.

Poor Aimee--I TRY not to keep stuff on my work computer, but damn, if they laid me off while I was gone (given how much I travel, quite the worry really), I'd be screwed, them trying to go through my things and send me my shit! Eep!

so clearly 50% of the greater D.C. area decided that hibernation was the appropriate response to the cold, wet morning we're having

I'm right there with them. Got a headache yesterday, woke up this morning, thought "Ick. Still hurts. More sleep". Slept until ten minutes after I should've left the house, and went "screw that, not going to work"

I felt like a victor this week,

Hee. Glad everyone else did a double-take at that line too. But yay Cindy!

So the outside of the piano is there, but there are no strings or hammers or anything.

Whoah. That's very weird. (Of course, my reaction was "do you often see the piano and start playing??" But that's just me...there's been a piano in our house for the past 20 years, but no one has played it in at least 15...)
