Can any of those further south (where it looks like the precip has started) chime in on how things are weather-wise?
I just called Mom in RI, and she said it is snowing there, but it is not snowing hard yet.

I am EXTREMELY dubious about this snow thing. People are going insane over it, and nothing has happened.
To be fair, the last couple of winters, when the weather folks have hyped up a storm like this, they've been right. HOWEVER, I remember for a number of years before that, they were both (a) missing big storms that caught them off guard and (b) making a huge OMGWTFSNOW!!!!! deal-lio about what turned out to be an inch or two.
The other thing is, the forecast itself isn't THAT bad - looks to be about 8 inches at a maximum and then turning to rain, which I find to be small potatoes in terms of a winter storm.
yeah, I am sure there will be snow and it will be a PITA. I just can't stand the general panic over white stuff in the sky.
Also, my stomach hurts and I am cranky.
Onion bagel.
I strongly suspect the weather forecast types hype these because it looks better if they predict snowpocalypse and are wrong than to miss it and everyone gets buried. But the "cry wolf" factor does set in after a while (not unlike with the frelling terror alert levels).
Snow?? We're looking at 70 degrees this weekend in the mountains of Utah.
Damn, it's nice to be on this side of the weather divide.
There have been rumors of temp in the 80's here - perfect softball weather...
It's just starting to snow now, but it is not accumulating yet. To call my landlord or not to call my landlord? On the one hand I don't want to be out two hours from now if the storm has gotten worse. On the other hand, I have to go to the market anyway.
sj, call your landlord and leave the decision about whether to show the apartment up to her. But, tell her you'll make your decision about whether or not to clear out of the place based on the storm and driving conditions, not her schedule.
I have just dived back into the Bitch thread after a long time and yikes, I just wish things start going better for Aimee and family, life is throwing way too much suck at you right now. Tons of ~ma.
Hi, Gud!
I've called both of the numbers and my landlord hasn't called me back. The snow is accumulating, and I'm not going anywhere. Oh, well.
