You know what sucks most about all of this? The thing that enrages me beyond reason the most?

Because of the circumstances...because she has to be in Michigan for this while I have to stay in California and then go to Arizona tomorrow...because of all this I can't hold my wife!!

Correct. However, if it's indeed a "re-org", the laws are different. VERY different.

They can just say they're eliminating the position - which sounds like what they're doing. They're probably outsourcing her responsibilities.

She'll definitely be eligible for unemployment.

It sounds like what happened to my "son" a couple of weeks ago--though not really. Walgreens wants to redevlop the stretch of land his current job is on, so their rep approached his boss and offered to buy the whole shebang. Oodles of money, enough to pay off all his debts plus a quarter of a million more. No one blames him, but it's kind of a shock to be told, "I've sold the building and they're ripping it down, we're all out of jobs in two weeks."
