I picked up 1602 #1 and 2 today at lunch on all y'alls recommendation. I'll read it tonight and let you know.

Rec for Holli: Midtown Comics does mail-order. And they discount online orders -- not a hell of a lot, but probably enough to make up for the cost of shipping.
Along with 1602, the sixth (and I believe last) issue of the second series of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen came out today.
I'm not sure what happened with The Collective, but I sure wish they stuck around. Everything was just of a higher quality. I have stupid nitpicks, but one of the things that bothers me to no end is how the characters can "walk" over things that are above them, there's no kind of climbing effort and it seems very fake. The other one was so close to reality I felt like I was actually playing an episode.
Yeah. ITA. The first one felt like playing an episode. The new one feels like very video gamey. (I mean, yes, it IS a video game, but alot happens that reminds you of such.)
Also the return of Sid was kind of pointless and I got my butt kicked playing him until I figured out how to do his one and only move (where he claws at the enemy with both hands). I still do like it, but I had an endless list of frustrations between the two. The game itself was not at all bad, but it felt like going backwards in quality.
I don't know, I thought Sid was kind of fun to play since he's so fast, and I get a measure of amusement out of the way he has to jump into the air to stake vampires. Also, once you find the hammer for him he kicks all kinds of butt. I do agree he was a completely unneccessary addition to the game, though.
Yeah, except for the better graphics quality (even though some of the characters and the settings looked more true to the show in the first game) and the additional characters, it plays like it's the first game in a series, rather than the second. There's all kinds of little things that first game handles so much better. I really do need to write up my list at some point...
Shipping to Utah, it was about $5 for shipping, with a much smaller discount.
Yay 1602.2! Trying to figure out who Virginia Dare is has been driving me all sorts of batty.
Finished V for Vendetta last night. Kind of a plate-of-shrimp thing. The day before I started it I'd explained Guy Fawkes and Guy Fawkes Day to a couple of friends (who both really like Harry Potter and may now get the phoenix's name), so imagine my surprise to discover that V stars Fawkes. Sort of.
Raquel, someone here earlier posted the theory that Virginia Dare represents Snowbird, a metamorph that was a member of Alpha Flight...
I've read No. 2.
I know who Virginia Dare is.
I ain't saying.

My co-worker (a comics fan) thinks that's who she is.
V for Vendetta is frelling amazing. I really need to re-read it - it's been a decade, literally.
I got an extra copy of 1602.2 for Holli. After the boxed-set-thread-brou-ha-ha I'd thought I'd better let everyone know so that she doesn't end up with three copies.
