Wow, if they're true to source they'll be putting the "graphic" back in graphic novels...

Discussion of Buffy and Angel comics, books, and more. Please don't get into spoilery details in the first week of release.
What's the latest issue of Angel: Old Friends that has been released? I haven't been to the comic shop since December, but I stopped by today and picked up #1, 2, and 3.
#3 is the most recent Angel: Old Friends.
Teppy, Emmett didn't want it, but I couldn't resist it, so I bought you this when we were at Ross today getting poker chips.

You needed to own it. Very simple.
Hey Sean, cleaning house means I found my Mike Baron interview. Here's an excerpt where we talk about how to justify having a man put on tights to fight crime.
Smay: Let's talk about the realm of Badger then. What's his rationale for having a costume? He's crazy?
Baron: Yes, well that's the simplest rationale of all....[I said to Capital Publications] "I want to do a book about a Druid Wizard." And the result was, "Nobody wants to see a book about a Druid Wizard. Give us another costumed superhero." And again, my first reaction was, "I already did one costumed superhero!" They said they wanted a crime fighter and I thought to myself, "Why in the world would anybody want to put on a costume to fight crime? They'd have to be nuts." Boing! And the Badger was born, full blown out of my brow....So in writing The Badger writes itself. Nexus is hard work. The Badger is a joy to write. Sometimes it's nothing but an image. For an example of that I was watching TV one day and there was a story about how the Department of Resources was parachuting beavers into Northern Wisconsin in certain areas where the flowage was breaking down and they had too much run-off and erosion...And I thought, "Oh. Beavers parachuting from the sky." And it was such a marvelous image I've written a whole story on it called "Beaver Drop."

Your. Mike. Baron. Interview.
It was cool!
I think the only reason Gary let me do it was because he knew Baron would go on for hours at the slightest prompting and any monkey could ask the questions. It's the only thing I did for The Comics Journal while I was at Fantagraphics.
I also rode back from San Diego Comic Con with Steve Rude. Also cool!

Sweet!

I remember that one. Vaguely. It's been too long since I've read any Nexus and Badger. I read them originally out of a friend's collection. Said friend has since moved to Sweden.

This must surely have placed somewhere in the ranks of epic road trips.
