I just got Crisis of Infinite Earths from the library, which I'm given to understand will help dumb down the scary DC universe for me.
Crisis was the reset button from two decades ago. So, it'll get you into post-Crisis land, but there have been little juggles since that time, so if you picked up something published today it would probably still not make sense.

Probably John Byrne's excellent "Man of Steel" miniseries which, recent tweaks and all, is still pretty much the baseline for post-Crisis Superman.
I'm dying to know what other people thought of this week's JLU. I thought that the scene
with Ace was particularly well done. Poor little mite. I was also amused by the real appearances of the RF gang.
