This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Like...tyrosine?

I guess it's down to him and the bodyguard from Murderer.

I liked her.

tyro?

Beginner.

What's the etymology?

The other good thing about NML is it's my only exposure to comic Scarecrow.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I figured out the definition in context, but what's the derivation?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Houghton Mifflin sez:

Medieval Latin t[ymacr]rō, squire, variant of Latin tīrō, recruit

M-W.com sez:

Medieval Latin, from Latin tiro young soldier, tyro

So it's an actual word. Huh.

In Greek mythology, Tyro was the daughter of Salmoneus and mother of Pelias and Neleus. Her father, Salmoneus, was the brother of Athamus.

Great! I don't know who any of those people are.

Huh. Never heard the word. I assumed it was some fandom abbreviation. Once again, the Buffistas prove that they are not merely entertainment, but edutainment.

Art Crawl!!!

Yes!!!

When does the next installment come out?

My pull list is pretty light for this week -- TT and uh. . . something else, I forget what.

Oh, and I had a Green Arrow question: there's a Bats/Outsiders/GA xover? Is that happening now?

And a JSA/Bats Xover? Also, now?

I only have OMAC #1, and my store is crappy about reprints -- what number are they up to?

I have TT #25 (can't wait can't wait!) and Robin #13whatever (yes, shut up, I'm back on Robin). Oh! And House of M #2.

I only have OMAC #1, and my store is crappy about reprints -- what number are they up to?

Only 2 issues are out right now.
